UCI Health Gavin Herbert Eye Institute -- Orange

We were informed earlier today.That's the the elevators are not working.And we have an appointment tomorrow, and they wanted us to know, in case we don't want to do stairs. We've only been there once before. And I don't remember if we're on the 1st floor or not. And nowhere does it say, what floor my doctor is on. So now I have to wait till morning to call and try to get through.And find out if we're even going to be going to the doctor.

I have been a patient at this Orange location for ten years and never had any serious problems until now. During the entire 2025, the prescription department (dept.) was being unclear with my medication records on MyChart and causing unnecessary delays in communication. Every effort for me to speak up about these problems was dismissed as irrelevant by one Practice Manager. Since the start of December 2025, I have once again seen errors in my Medications record on MyChart. Yet, until now, at the end of December, this Orange clinic still delays recognizing this as a problem and making any corrections. Since December 2025, one out of the four eyedrops that I am currently using was deleted from my Medications list on MyChart. This missing medication was also deleted from two of my most recent "After Visit Summaries", which only listed three eyedrops. For all After Visit Summaries before that, my entire medications list was completely empty when I have been using these four eyedrops for many years. Whenever I called in about this, phone operators would do their own analysis of my prescriptions. Except for the lady who I spoke to on December 16 seeming unbiased and just typing a note, the other two ladies on December 4 and December 23 were giving absurd medical explanations as if knowing my medication more than me. The delays in proper explanation that I am currently facing have the same pattern and connection with earlier events this year. Back during March - April 2025, I found out from my pharmacy that someone had renewed one of my prescriptions on March 14, 2025 without my awareness when the one that I am using is still valid. When I checked MyChart, I did not see a record of this renewed prescription anywhere. For one month, I was passed around to at least four UCI staffs and everyone would give confusing and inconsistent explanations. Someone even said that the prescription did not appear on MyChart, because it was given by "oral" instructions. On April 14, 2025, I wrote a MyChart message for a clearer written response but received no reply. Several more weeks later, the Practice Manager gave me a phone call instead of a written message. The Practice Manager concluded that the mysterious prescription was sent out from the "doctor office" of a doctor who no longer works at UCI. I think not only does the Practice Manager's reason sound far-fetched, but the prescription dept.'s inability to clarify in a timely manner is suspicious. During June 2025, when I requested the prescription dept. for prior authorization for a medication, there seemed to be an intentional delay. I contacted the clinic by phone and was promised a call back. Instead of giving me a call, a technician gave me an unexpected MyChart message that I might not even notice. Ironically, on April 14, 2025, when I requested for a written message on MyChart, no technician nor manager would give me one. After that MyChart message, I checked several times with my pharmacy, but my pharmacy did not receive anything from UCI. It is unfair for the prescription dept. to be playing a joke on an elderly man this way. Eventually, the Practice Manager called and told me that my prescription was now "personally" taken care of by her through "oral" instruction with my pharmacy and insisted that the delay was "unintentional". (The prescription coincidentally was the same one that was recently deleted from my medical records during December 2025.) On June 9, 2025, when I contacted Patient Relations, their explanation letter was vague, inaccurate, and unusually similar to what the Practice Manager discussed with me on June 11, 2025. Now, whenever I call Patient Relations, there is the same lady that keeps answering the phone and roughly cutting me off from speaking every time. As an elderly man with an eye condition, I am constantly fearing that the prescription dept. and the authoritative and influential Practice Manager would not stop giving me a difficult time.

The worst service I have ever had. Not withstanding the Dr. is super. He diagnosed me in only 3 minutes. The staff wont call me back, won't follow-up, they give wrong numbers for faxing referrals. They will argue even it they are wrong. This process, so far, is 6 month into it, and I still don't know what step in the process I am in. It is horrible .

I would not recommend this facility. Despite having a scheduled appointment, I was not seen until over an hour later. During my visit, I found the staff and nurses to be unprofessional and lacking in courtesy. For those seeking timely and respectful care, I suggest exploring alternative providers.

I was referred to this facility by my Opthalmologist because he knew that I would receive good service..Well it wasn't just good it was excellent..By the look of all the patients in the waiting room you could just imagine that they were very busy, but the wait was not long at all. I was very very satisfied with check in , the cleanliness, the professionalism, the equipment used, everything was done on the spot. I traveled over 60 miles to the appointment ..My first visit with Doctor Farid and she was AMAZING , I am looking forward to my next visit...THANK YOU to the staff for what they do. My husband has gone to Dr. Kedhar for over a year now and he has been wonderful. Since I too have eye issues, I scheduled an appointment with him and he explained everything that could be done in my situation. He is so kind and personable, he even remembered vacations we mentioned taking. Dr. Kedhar is an awesome doctor!

I went to UCI Health Eye Services with a concern about ocular migraines. I was really concerned going into the appt, but their professionalism and efficiency was really disarming and comforting. When I saw Dr Patel to review test results, it was clear he was a master of his field. He is so incredibly knowledgeable of his space and has fantastic bedside manner. I hope I never see him again, but he's the best if I do!

My name is Khin. I have severe glaucomas. My regular eye doctor sent me to UCI eye clinic for advanced treatment. I scare to go UCI because of the name university is so big for me. But I saw very nice , kindness and wonderful people in UCI. Dr. Fox is so amazing and a great Doctor. He treats me like his family member. He explained about my eye's condition and treatment. All nurses and technicians are awesome. They are very friendly and full knowledge. I feel very safe with them. The words of thank you is not enough for them. Thank you thank you Dr.Fox and all staffs in UCI clinic.
