A Children's Eyewear Specialist

I have only good to say. They are a pediatric "SPECIALTY" clinic for vision problems. They serve people who are in need which special problems (like double vision, crossed eyes, and severe myopia), who may be on Medi-cal. There is more need than available doctors. I understand why people may have written negative reviews.... kinda. But, just to keep in mind - they are super amazing at what they do. I don't know what I'd do without the amazing Dr. Kohler. Since COVID there is a shortage of staff. If you can afford to go elsewhere, and your need isn't that great, that may be the best. They saw me right away this week because of my urgent need. I was surprised and very grateful. People can be demanding and insensitive to staff as well. (all those kids all day long so hyper, it's crazy in the waiting room for 30 minutes!). I forget what a room full of locked-up kids bouncing off walls are like. Be prepared! Love Dr. Kohler!!!

We scheduled our appt with months in advance due to work schedule and availability with doctors . we finally got in the nurse/ma was advised baby had a small cold she was getting over . She stepped outside and told us the doctor would not see her . It was not Covid . It was the tail end of an infant cold . How many patients do we see daily with simple colds ? I too work in the medical fields. We are trained on what precautions to take . The doctor never saw the baby . He sent an MA to do his work . Horrible first experience . Callus and zero empathy .Honestly that was plain laziness

AVOID!!!!! I am so upset at the lack of service and attention and the basic intention to rip you off. Took 2 calls & 3 days to get an appointment. They do not answer calls - I know that because we took our prescription there and any time I placed a call which was 5 different times over 6 days, went straight to a voicemail that you must listen to in both Spanish and English and cannot skip to leave a message. They said a prescription would take 2 weeks, and my child's glasses were going to cost about $350. Our doctor sent over a prescription the same day I left & nobody notified me that it was received, I called and did not get a callback for 48 hours. In the meantime I went to Unoptical in Hillcrest where they quickly helped me out and it is $199 out the door with a prescription and it was done in 45 minutes.

I definitely agree with the person below. AVOID!! They have the worst customer service whom they return any call backs. You have to call many times and wait for a couple of weeks to get a return call back. I still have yet to receive a call back after leaving multiple voicemails. I will never return here and will definitely do business elsewhere.

Even 1 star is too much for this place but I have no choice to pick a star. Worst place when it comes to customer service. No way to get hold of anyone and no one will get back to you if your glasses are ready. Terrible all around. I wish I knew before I took my son there. Total waste of time.
