Focal Optometry

We have been going here since we moved about a year ago and have always received the best care! The staff is awesome, very friendly, welcoming and understanding. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with smiling faces. We have seen both Dr. Chung and Dr. Cao and they both listen to all of our needs and concerns. They are both very insightful and answer any and all questions that you may have during your visit. Thank you Focal Optometry!

Had a wonderful experience at Focal Optometry with Dr. Chung. He was super attentive, patient, and kind to my mom and very thorough in his exam and explanations. Other staff were also very friendly and helpful. Beautiful store with a wide selection of glasses to choose from and they have cute bags for your purchases. Highly recommend!

The doctors and staff at Focal Optometry are amazing! Friendly, helpful, upfront about how much things will cost and making sure I'm happy with everything. From a routine eye checkup to my more complex dry-eye issues, they have been incredibly helpful!

I had an emergency my eye was hurting super bad and the light was super sensitive to see. I called in same day the staff was very nice they got me in right away! Dr. Chung 10/10 greatest guy ever! I'm not from SD just visiting for a short while but I'd definitely have him as my primary doc! That was a greatest experience. Plus my eye feels all better! Thank you! Thank you!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Focal Optometry is truly outstanding, and Dr. Allen Chung is an exceptional doctor. The office is clean, welcoming, and well organized. The staff is professional, friendly, and always makes the entire visit smooth and comfortable. Dr. Chung is exceptional. He takes his time, explains everything clearly, and never rushes through the exam. I especially appreciated how detailed he was when helping me choose the right glasses prescription. He made sure I understood the difference in lens options and helped me find what would work best for my vision and lifestyle not just what was easiest or most expensive. You can tell he truly wants the best for his patients. I absolutely love my new glasses. The staff was so patient while helping me select a frame that fit my face shape and style. I've received so many compliments, and most importantly, my vision has never felt clearer. I left feeling listened to, informed, and confident. It's rare to find a doctor who treats you like a real person and not just another appointment. I am so grateful I found Focal Optometry and Dr. Chung. I recommend this office to everyone I know in San Diego if you want an optometrist you can trust with your eyes long-term, this is the place.

I had an incredible first experience with the F.O team! It was easy to schedule my appointment and communicate with the front desk, and the office was easy to find and had plenty of parking. Cady, Kristina, and Dr. Chain were incredibly thorough and answered all of my questions, and made me feel comfortable with my choice in contact lenses. Kristina is an EXPERT frame finder as well!
