One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had.
I had an extremely unpleasant experience with Total Vision Regent, and I strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this clinic.
The manager was rude, disrespectful, and condescending, with a completely inconsiderate attitude toward patients. While a few staff members were polite, others openly spoke poorly about customers, which was both unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness.
On my very first visit, I scheduled an appointment for 9:00 a.m. and arrived on time, only to be told I would need to wait over 30 minutes. I explicitly explained that I had a strict work schedule, yet this was ignored. When I stepped aside to make a phone call during the wait, I was abruptly interrupted several minutes later and told that my appointment could suddenly start--clearly showing a lack of organization and respect for patients' time.
The manager initially pretended to be courteous, but his actions showed a complete lack of empathy for people with tight schedules. I later scheduled a follow-up appointment directly over the phone with the manager, only to discover on the day of the visit that he never entered it into their system. I was told there was "no such appointment," and shockingly, no apology was offered.
As a low-income, working-class individual, it is extremely difficult for me to take time off work. Having my appointment forgotten without any accountability was deeply disrespectful and frustrating.
The examination itself felt rushed, careless, and unreliable. They did not take the time--or even have proper equipment--to inspect the lenses with me upon arrival to check for defects such as cracks. This lack of basic quality control is unacceptable for an eye clinic.
Pricing was another major issue. No prices were clearly listed, and charges felt arbitrary and inconsistent. After comparing prices with other optical shops, I found that even their so-called "discounted" prices were significantly higher than competitors. Their pricing is clearly overinflated.
Overall, every visit left me feeling disrespected, dismissed, and taken advantage of. This was a consistently awful experience, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere before considering Total Vision Regent
The front office experience was very disappointing. I was on hold for about 35 minutes, and no one answered my simple question: "Do you accept my insurance?" During the hold, the representative came back to ask unnecessary questions about my Social Security number, indicating that they couldn't find my information in the system. I wonder why they didn't ask these questions earlier when I provided all my personal details.
Despite being a patient for many years, after 30 minutes, she finally returned to ask about my prescription information. This was confusing, as I haven't seen a doctor yet--so what prescription could she be referring to? It seems that the staff handling multiple lines was not well-trained or attentive.
It's important for the office to ensure that front office staff are properly trained and responsive, as their role is critical to patient experience. I hope the management addresses these issues to improve the service.
They shipped me the incorrect contact lenses and despite reaching out three times via email and three times by phone, I have yet to receive any resolution.
The lack of communication is concerning. No one has followed up or offered any kind of remedy. I'm now stuck with a 6-month supply of contact lenses that I cannot use.
I hope they see this review and address this issue.
I've been coming here for years, but the administration has become so poor. I called 3 times over the past few weeks and never got a callback. I have also sent emails, and they never respond. Will be looking for a new Optometrist for my next appointment. It's a shame since I've been a customer for almost 15 years. I hope one of the doctors sees this and makes changes.
Update: will be ordering from 1-800 contacts.
The doctor was great, but the front desk keeps trying to trick me with false information. The front desk lied to me that the cost would be the same even if they are out of the VSP coverage now. I was tricked into signing the acknowledgement and moving on with the service, and only realize that I could have found a different provider and have 50% less cost on my end after comparing my bill with another bill 2 years ago. I will not recommend if you are covered by VSP starting 2025 onwards.
I had an exceptional experience at our local optometry practice--both the optometrist and the opticians were outstanding. The optometrist was thorough, taking the time to explain and answering all my questions with patience and clarity. The managing optician, Brian Almaraz, was especially impressive. He and his entire team took the time to teach me how to put in contact lenses for the first time after wearing glasses for decades. Not easy! After a couple of training sessions, I finally passed and they sent me confidently home with my new contact lenses. Brian especially showed he is knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. He was also helpful in selecting frames and adjusting my glasses to fit perfectly and with great care. I left feeling like I had received top-tier, personalized service from a team of professionals who genuinely love what they do.
The vibe and overall experience was very welcoming and the process was easy .The receptionist is sweet and took care of all my questions when first arriving. The eye doctor is funny and likes to make jokes to make you feel comfortable, i definitely recommend coming here for all your eye care needs .
Their open hours is not true. I tried to go there to buy pair of prescription glasses at 4pm and they told me that they closed at 2.30pm and that I next time I call in advance to let them know that I am planning to visit their store.
