Recommended by a very stylish friend with amazing glasses, I bopped into my appointment at Hillcrest Optical with high hopes of finding amazing glasses for myself --and I did! Two pairs! Thank you Lisa for all your help and for keeping a very unique selection in your store. I loved my unhurried experience and enjoyed the very best customer service.

Lisa & Hillcrest Optical.. exceptional.. communication, scheduling, service, taste, care, class.. Lisa went far above and beyond expectations.. really surprised me how professional and lovely an experience one could have in finding quality eyeglasses.. I had only experience with large chain optical stores before I first spoke with Lisa @ Hillcrest Optical.. I was initially delighted by her exceptional communication skills.. over the phone.. she was prompt, professional, and respectful.. I got a sense I was working with someone who took great pride in their quality of service.. I came to find throughout the whole experience Lisa was: lovely, helpful, articulate, understanding, very very knowledgeable (& she educated me on, according to what I was looking for, my options), had a wonderful selection of quality & tasteful stylish eyewear (everything from understated, simple to.. you name it.. something for everyone it seemed), adjusted my eyeglasses better than anyone prior had (I cannot state how surprised I was to find how well she made them fit! Comfortably!!)... just really I cannot speak highly enough and I sincerely hope Hillcrest Optical is around for many, many years. What a wonderful gem of a business to have in our community. It's rare I rave about businesses, but when I find the exceptional level of quality service, care, and professionalism that I found in Hillcrest Optical (thank you Lisa), I go out of my way to tell others; I rave about them because I want them to be around for a long time-- so we all get to benefit from having them, the services they provide, and (especially important to me) the relationships with the genuine skilled people that run them, in our community. Yes! Rad, professional, stylish, prompt, personalized, etc.... they set the bar. Could not have been a better experience. Looking forward to returning. My opthalmologist recommended Lisa and her Hillcrest Optical shop. Charming building/space offering a unique variety and styles of glasses. It's hard not to walk away with yet another pair! Lisa is professional and kind and provides excellent customer service.

If I could give 10 stars I would!! Yes, there're many optical shops in San Diego, BUT Lisa the owner of Hillcrest Optical is absolutely the best in San Diego...hands down!! I would call her the "optical whisperer". I've had the pleasure of knowing her for a few years and she's the only person that I would ever let touch my glasses. I always call Lisa to help adjust my glasses (because they're vintage frames) and just a few minutes my glasses are perfect every time. Can't beat that!!! Thank you Lisa for your kindness and exceptional customer service!!! She has a great selection of frames and some vintage. Can't find it in the store, she'll order it and has great line of frames and manufacturers. The other San Diego shops are the best of the worst and the worst of the best. Go to Hillcrest Optical and get the best of the best!!!! Howard B

The selection of frames at this shop is so cool. Lisa spends so much time making sure you find what you want and what suits you. I love the vintage stuff and was so surprised that some of the items that looked vintage were actually brand new! My husband and I will both be getting our glasses here from now on.
