Pro-Mec Eye Glass Repair

This place has been around for decades. 20 years ago, I was working at an optical office and we always send repair orders to Promec or told the patient to go directly here. Fast forward, 20 years later, I finally was able to step foot in this place. Unfortunately my temples broke and I needed a replacement. There wasn't much option because I wanted plastic material for the temple on a metal frame. They were able to put new temples on but they were not spring hinges so now it's caused an indentation on my head. The price was also in the $50s. Still cheaper than getting a new pair. The wait time was about 30 minutes. Plenty of bakeries and shops nearby to walk around.

I was referred to the place by Sharp Optical because my mom's glasses needed repair. One of the temples was really loose because the screw was about to break. I came in and Rocky (owner) repaired it within minutes. The price to fix was really good versus getting a new pair. My mom was really satisfied. I highly recommended. It is located where you can check out the stores and food places while you are waiting.

Highly recommend this shop. I came in about a month ago with my glasses that I thought would not be repairable or would need to order a new temple for them. They told me it would take 30 minutes and I was impressed, wow that quick! And even better with the price because I was expecting it to cost way more than it did! I recommend this repair shop very fast and great pricing.

Great service and communication! They were able to fix my glasses quickly and also provided a limited time warranty. I recommend bringing cash when you pick up your glasses as there is a surcharge for credit cards (which is fair given how small businesses really lose out with credit card charges).

I stopped by Pro Mec Optical this week to get the metal hinges replaced on some clear frame glasses. Most other optical stores told me they weren't fixable and just tried to sell me a new pair, but Pro Mec had them finished in less than an hour. The work was amazing and the glasses feel great now. I highly recommend them if you want quality repairs instead of a sales pitch.

Nice solid glasses repair work. The only place in San Diego that does custom glasses frame repairs. Almost every pair of glasses I own, I've brought to Pro-Mec to get nose inserts placed onto my glasses. I have a high pronounced narrow nose bridge and a wide face that makes it difficult to fit most frames. So I bring them into Pro-Mec to have adjustable nose inserts placed into the frames so they don't slide down my face. I've also brought them some glasses with broken hinges to fix. Most repairs are quick and reasonably priced. I waited less than 1 hour for 2 pairs of glasses to be repaired. If you have glasses that need fixing, give them a call.

I found this place through Google after seeing several reviews mentioning their ability to repair loupes--which, for those unfamiliar, are very expensive pieces of professional eyewear used by dentists and medical doctors. I was specifically searching for help because my husband broke the leg/hinge on his loupes, which made him unable to see patients. They were able to take care of the repair quickly and at an extremely reasonable price. The quality of the work was excellent, and the turnaround time was impressive. Professional repair services like this feel harder and harder to find these days, with many places pushing you toward buying something new instead of fixing what you already have. This shop did the opposite--and in doing so, saved us thousands of dollars that replacing the loupes would have cost. Highly recommend this place for anyone needing eyewear repairs, especially specialty or professional equipment. True craftsmanship and outstanding service.

The person who works for is very nice. He repaired my glasses quickly. They have 1 hour validated parking in the structure north of this place. My baby accidentally knocked over my coffee on his counter and he was really nice about it. He gave my girls coloring books. It was $30 and he takes Apple Pay!
