Total Vision Rancho Bernardo

This is a huge shout out to Dr. Hayes and staff Ali and Mike. Dr. Hayes is so specialized in his field. He has been treating my mom since she had a major stroke that affected her vision. Dr. Hayes is an expert in vision therapy. He came highly recommended by various healthcare professionals. Dr. Hayes is one of those rare doctors that treats you like family and goes the extra mile with you. He was actually much more helpful than the Neuro ophthalmologist. Ali and Mike went above and beyond too helping me get all my mom's records to Dr. Hayes. Overall, it's just a great, well run, fantastic eye care place.

UPDATE: Roberta from TVC reaches out to me and went above and beyond to get me replacement frames. Thank you so much. Total Vision Care really does put the customer first and I will continue to business with them! ------------------------------------------ Wouldn't recommend getting outside frames lensed here. They warped one of my frames and will not do anything about it. Kind of disappointing. Otherwise the staff here is extremely friendly and helpful.

First of all, I wish I could remember everyone's names, but I'm gonna have to pull out my "Old Man Card" on this one! From the first contact, the person at the desk was very sweet and got me to the next person. The next was another awesome person, taking time to explain everything and doing tests, and not pushing things I didn't need. Then I had the pleasure of being taken care of by Dr. Goode. What a sweet person that took the time to explain everything in terms I could understand. The last person was a guy that helped me through the ordering process. Once again, a super nice person and very professional! It was very apparent that the owners only hire awesome people to take care of their clients! Over the past few years I have had a number of different optometrist offices and none compare with Total Vision RB. I moved to WeHo at the beginning of the year and I still drive down to Rancho Bernardo for anything regarding my glasses. Hands down the best options, prices, and customer service. Especially with Luke who has been thoroughly understanding of the needs of the customer and has done an excellent job in retaining me and my family as customers. With their well priced and encompassing protection plans I have had the pleasure taking glasses from here around the world and up Mount Whitney, and I still keep coming back to Total Vision RB and so should you. 5/5

Amazing customer service! I called to schedule an emergency visit, and the front desk lady worked with my schedule and got me in immediately. The doctor was friendly and explained why I had an eye infection. She numbed my eye, wrote me a prescription, and I have a follow-up visit tomorrow. I was able to return to work the same day! I appreciate your care.

UPDATE It has been a year since my first review and things have drastically changed. The customer service was excellent at first, but after being a customer for a year things have declined. Currently I am awaiting the delivery of lenses that I ordered and paid for in early April (it is now July 18th). I have called to check on the status of my order 13 times and each time was told by the person on the phone that they would check on my order and call me back. They have my name and number, but NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED ME BACK. Now, I have called 3 times to ask for a refund for the cost of the lenses, since I have not received them, and each time I have been told there is not a manager present to process this request. Seems odd. The last time I was physically in the office for my eye exam in April, a woman had an outburst at the front desk and mentioned she had been a customer for years, but was taking her business elsewhere because no one would return her calls. I should have taken this as a warning, now looking back. Take your business elsewhere as they do not understand the meaning of customer service at this location. This was my review from a year ago: The entire staff is incredibly helpful and professional. The office is spacious and clean with state-of-the-art technology. Great selection of glasses too. I highly recommend Total Vision Care.

This review is in two parts - First the good one - the optometrist - Dr. Emily Thai. I give her 5 stars. Very good, knowledgeable and friendly. Lends a patient hearing to what we have to say. Second, the not-so-good one - the front office and the glass sales - can be a bit more friendly for a front-office; the frame/lenses sale - they like you ONLY if you are buying frame from them as well. Else, just drop your frame and and when they email you its ready, just show up, grab it and bolt out. Don't expect any courtesy/nicety. Or, better yet, go to Costco with your prescription and frames.

I have had a nightmare experience. Total Vision never sent my claim to my Insurance and billed me for the cost. They refuse to show me any record that it was sent and refuse to speak to me after many calls. I would never recommend them and don't trust them. Very Dissatisfied Customer and will pursue action.
