The Eye Care Group is a top notch medical provider. Their care is impeccable and they are highly skilled practitioners with a patient first attitude. A recent appointment was canceled by the office due to a snowstorm however Dr. Silbert added extra slots and got me in two days later. They have a number of doctors with varied specialties encompassing all types of eye care and treatment so everything can be done within the practice.
This is a wonderful group! Dr. Bosjolie and her associates go the extra mile. They are considerate, kind and very helpful. They actually care. She is a highly skilled surgeon and is extremely respected in her field. I couldn't have found a better Doctor anywhere. I highly recommend The Eye Care Group for all your eye care needs. Thank you so much for all you have done for me.
I first saw Christina which she was amazing and then I meet Dr. Berenberg for the first time. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I was very happy with my friends recommendations!
Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with a medical office. One star is being generous.
I was referred to Dr. Kostina by my neurologist because of ongoing vision issues, and I waited an entire year just to get an appointment. Unfortunately, every interaction with this office has been consistently frustrating. The front desk staff is routinely rude, dismissive, and argumentative, whether you're calling with a question or trying to schedule.
I originally managed to get an appointment, but when I caught an illness and needed to reschedule, everything fell apart. When I called back, I was abruptly told they no longer accept my insurance. Fine -- I was willing to pay out of pocket for my own health. But they then informed me of their new policy: they won't even allow patients to pay out of pocket unless they are already "established" patients. And apparently, waiting a full year for their appointment somehow doesn't count as being established.
They said they'd "check with management," but I was ultimately told no. No exceptions. No care. No concern. Just a robotic "we don't take your insurance and we won't let you pay."
This was especially shocking because neuro-ophthalmologists are extremely limited in my area. My neurologist had no alternatives. My insurance only lists doctors out of state. I was completely stuck -- and this office did not care at all. Not even when I clearly explained that this was affecting my health and vision.
What pushed it over the edge was the comment from the front desk: they "don't allow" out-of-pocket payment because they're "afraid they won't get paid." So instead of helping someone who is literally offering to pay upfront, they would rather deny care altogether.
It is painfully obvious that this office prioritizes policies and profit over patient well-being. From the reception staff to management, the overall attitude is unhelpful, unprofessional, and indifferent.
If you're dealing with something serious -- or simply want to be treated with basic respect -- avoid this office entirely. The lack of compassion, flexibility, and professionalism is unbelievable. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE.
I've been a patient at the Eye Care Group for over 30 years. I've never had a negative experience. The staff and doctors are knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. Every doctor I've seen has been professional and has treated me with kindness. I highly recommend the Eye Care group!
Would leave 0 stars if I could
My friend has been suffering from serious eye issues for over a year, and her neurologist referred her to the neuro-ophthalmologist at this practice. She scheduled an appointment, but unfortunately had to cancel after being in a car accident. When she called back to reschedule, she was told they no longer accept her insurance. That was disappointing, but understandable -- insurance policies change.
What isn't understandable is that they refused to see her even if she paid out of pocket. She explained that she has the funds and simply needs the care. She has been unable to find another neuro-ophthalmologist in the area, and both her neurologist and her insurance company advised her to return to this office. This appointment isn't optional; it's medically necessary. She needs this appointment and these specialists are rare in this area.
The response she received from the office manager was incredibly disheartening. Instead of compassion or problem-solving, she was met with a cold explanation that "as a business" they can choose which insurance they work with -- even though she was offering to pay privately. When my friend tried to explain that someone in her situation would hope for understanding and urgency, the manager reacted defensively rather than empathetically.
I was with her during the call, and the entire interaction lacked basic compassion. My friend was genuinely seeking help, yet she was treated dismissively. For a healthcare office -- especially one serving patients with neurological and vision issues -- this level of indifference is unacceptable.
It's heartbreaking to see a medical practice put rigid policies above a patient's health and well-being, especially when the patient is willing to pay out of pocket. People come to specialists like this because they're vulnerable and need care, not because they want to argue with office staff.
We feel strongly about sharing this experience so others are aware. No patient should be left without care simply because an office refuses to work with them in any capacity.
From check in through check out, my experience at tge Eye Care Group was excellent. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Dr. Berengburg couldn't have been any nicer. He was thorough with the exam, patiently explained his findings, and encouraged and answered any questions that I had. Thank you to the staff and Dr. B.
I found it very pleasant due to the pleasant people around me who work with me today
Dr Bosjolie was very knowledgeable and caring. It was my first time patient and was happy to have her take care of me.
Didn't have to wait too long, which is a blessing for me since I have anxiety. Glad I found a new doctor that I like.
