Eyesight Associates South

When I arrived i paid my $30 co-pay as I usually do at any doctor but I was charged and extra $50 medical fee. $80 to have my eyes checked for glasses after cataract surgery at their Corder Road location. I asked why the extra? They had a lady come to my room while seeing the doctor and really never explained anything other than I could go elsewhere. Nice, right? If not for the doctor, Dr. Wright I would have complained more and even asked for my money back. Dr. Wright was worth the extra charge but I have been going to eye doctors for over 60 years and I have never had to pay a $50 medical fee on top of my copay. I have seen about every specialist around and some with state of the art equipment. This was a first. I have contacted my insurance company and they have never heard of this before. Why else do we have insurance? They are going to investigate and get back to me. I would like someone to explain why they think because they have the best they can charge an extra fee.I would love to stay as a patient of Dr. Wright but I can go elsewhere. Has this happened to anyone else?

I really wanted this to be 5 stars, but it just didn't happen that way. The doctors are great; the staff has no idea what's going on. When I came in I was taken directly to the back where I had a field vision test, great! Then I waited and waited watched people come in after me and go to the back. Finally, I asked what was going on and they said I was next. I then watched someone move my chart to the bottom again and THE CUSTOMER said no, take him next, he's been waiting. I was taken to the back where 35 minutes more passed. I text my wife I was walking out so she decided to talk to the people at the desk. The said I was late and they were trying to fit me in. I am former Navy and late is on time for everyone else. I am always 10-15 minutes early. What they did, I suspect, is schedule the Dr. at the same time as the test, but not once was any of this communicated to either of us. I came to this office because I sat at the main office hours and they never had me scheduled for all the tests! This is unacceptable and my time is valuable as well. I cannot justify returning to either office.

They are slow. You will be in here forever. This appointment literally took half a day. That is crazy. I am definitely finding a new medical Eye doctor. If it is taking this long to do an eye exam there is no reason you should be scheduling patients on top of patients. Make it make since.

My routine appointment was for 8:35. As of 9:55, I still had not seen the doctor. (I could hear him in the room next door having a nice long chat with two people). As I needed to leave for another appointment, I walked out. I declined his staff's offer to reschedule, as I had already wasted a $50 co-pay and my time on someone who might have eventually spent 30 seconds with me, as he usually does.

Very rude front desk clerk at 9AM 10 OCT 25. Put me on hold multiple times without warning during the scheduling and had a bad attitude.

The front desk clerk was extremely rude when my son had an appointment, failing to add his secondary insurance to the account and providing an incorrect billing department phone number, forcing me to contact a different location to obtain the correct contact information.
