Dr Jann Hara was the answer to my prayers. My brother has terminal Lymphoma & is in Hospice. One of the few pleasures he has left is watching TV but he needed glasses. Neither his Health Insurance nor Hospice would cover house calls & he could not make it to a Dr's office. I reached out for help & Dr Hara responded almost immediately & w/so much aloha, she said she loves helping people. She went to my brother's Care Home, did an examination & got him glasses right away. I am looking at the pictures she sent me of my brother smiling with his new glasses on & I am crying. I have never been so touched by a Dr before. If our Health Care system is broken, Dr Hara has the fix. It's about the Care, the caring for the patient. I am so happy & grateful. Flo Shields

Heard about this practice through their Facebook add offering of $100. Clicked it, sent my info and was called within 10 minutes of submission. I booked an appointment for and eye exam. The office is located inside of Paris Miki, this made them seem unprofessional due to the fact that they didn't disclose that they were completely separate. The staff of Paris Miki did not greet or acknowledge me as I entered, and everyone was helping a customer (not counting this as part of the deduction on stars). After a few minutes I just went up to someone who was free and said I was there for an eye exam appointment. A few minutes later a woman walked out, and told me to wait. Five minutes later I sat with Dr. Jann Hara. The overall experience was okay, she explained what my insurance covered, had the exam and gave me my prescription. I asked about the glasses and how quick the in house turn around was. She clarified that the Paris Miki stock was not hers, and she would have to place any glasses order through here provider. I also asked what the $100 covers, and she stated that it would go towards any other service. The only other thing I could do was get a contact prescription (you have to schedule separately), it wouldn't actually go towards the cost of frames or contacts. After my consultation, I waited for her secretary to book the appointment, she was busy talking to someone else, possibly another client maybe a Paris Miki employee talking story. So after 10 minutes of her telling me to wait, I walked out and figured I just call and book. A few days pass, and I call to schedule the appointment for a contact appointment no answer, it goes to voice mail after a the "you may have reached us after hours or were busy," it cuts off not letting you leave a message. I call the next day, no answer. I called Paris Miki to confirm, and the associate says she's there, but cannot pass me to her. I understand, two different businesses right. After 6 attempts I gave up and decided not to give them my business. The $100 promo was just a way to grab your attention so you go in for Dr. Jann to get a payday from your insurance provider. I'll stick to Walmart's eye care, at least they're honest.

Dr. Hara provides comprehensive and detailed exams. I've been visiting her for years and she's still the most skilled optometrist in Honolulu!

Dr. Hara was kind, professional, and quick. Called around a few places before I talked to her and they were all very terse. Dr. Hara was a breath of fresh air.
