I am beyond grateful to Dr. Jenkin for her exceptional care. I had my first LASIK surgery back in 2005, and now I've returned for PRK on my left eye -- and once again, the experience has been absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in, you can truly feel the top-of-the-line service, professionalism, and genuine care from the entire team. Dr. Jenkin's knowledge and expertise are unmatched, and her gentle approach immediately puts you at ease. She takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and makes sure you feel confident and comfortable every step of the way. The procedure was smooth, and the recovery has been so quick and painless. I absolutely love her staff, especially Michiyo, who referred me back in 2005 for my very first surgery. The fact that she is still there and continues to care for patients with the same kindness and dedication speaks volumes about this practice. And Davina has also been so wonderful -- friendly, attentive, and truly caring. They make you feel like family. I truly believe Dr. Jenkin is the best on the island. I was referred by my Optometrist and Retina Specialist to Jenkins Eye Care for Cataract Surgery. After a very thorough initial eye examination and consultation, I decided to proceed with Light Adjustable lenses. The process started in June and my last laser treatment was in November. Thank you to Dr. Nikpoor who performed the Cataract Surgery and Dr. Porter who did the laser treatments, my vision is improved beyond my expectations. The care I received from everyone at Jenkins Eye care was exceptional in every way. They work as a team and kept me informed every step of the way, from the front desk, medical Assistants, Surgical coordinators, Surgical Center staff and doctors. I felt I was in very good hands and trusted the process, so important when it comes to your eyes/vision. I highly recommend Jenkins Eye Care!

I've taken my Mom here for her Left Eye cataract surgery. All of the pre surgical checks was done in a professional manner. The procedure was explained to my Mother and they did an excellent job answering her questions and concerns. The staff, and doctors showed great care before, during and even the after the surgery, as well as her follow up care. Next up will be her Right eye in a couple of months.

The entire staff are very pleasant, professional, and caring . They make sure to explain each step of your exam and ask you at each stage if you have any questions and provide detailed instructions while in their care. The staff made the pre and post procedure exams very pleasant and enjoyable as well they take the time to listen and discuss any concerns I never felt rushed at anytime. Thank you all for your caring attitude and professionalism throughout my process If you need any type of eye care than Jenkins Eye Care is the place you need to get to it's great to see clearly again thank you.

Dr Jenkins and her staff are the best. I had worn glasses since the 3rd grade and when I needed cataract surgery at age 65, they were able to not only remove the cataracts, but also insert lenses that eliminated my astigmatism and give me 20/20 uncorrected vision in my right eye. We did mono vision in my left eye so I am now able to read close up without reading glasses. I am absolutely amazed to wake up and see clearly every morning. Thank you, thank you, thank you

I was referred to Dr. Nikpoor by my optometrist on Maui for cataract surgery. I met with her about lens replacement and decided on LAL (Light Adjustable Lens) vs. traditional lens as the outcome for better results is much higher with LAL. (LAL are not covered by my insurance). My Experience: First eye was done, then two weeks later the second eye. Dr. Nikpoor did the cataract surgery at a surgical center. The surgery is outpatient, well-orchestrated (busy surgical center), quick surgery, and painless. All staff members at the surgical center were caring and professional. Post Surgery: I was given prescribed drops to use for four weeks, an eye shield to wear a week, told no water in eye for a week, told to wear UV glasses, (they give you all these items) and advised to use OTC eye drops frequently for dryness. The second eye was done and same instructions. After both eyes are done, I returned for a check up, two "fine tunings," two "lock ins." (This was for me, but may be different for others.). Outcome: Amazing results! I have never had 20/20 vision even with glasses, and can now see both near and far. I can read text on my phone and drive without glasses; Impossible without glasses before. Jenkins Eye Care: Awesome doctors and staff. Dr. Nikpoor comes highly recommended, is a skillful surgeon, and is warm and reassuring. Dr. Porter (who did my fine tuning/lock ins) is incredible. She is what you want all doctors to be: Invested in the best outcome for you; Loves what she does; Answers all your questions; Is smart, compassionate and funny. Staff are a wonderful, hard-working group of very patient people who work in a very busy office. Would I choose LAL over traditional lens again, YES! Hope this review helps.

I am not questioning the care, but I am questioning the cost. I've had two family members on the mainland who have had bilateral cataract surgery and did not pay any out-of-pocket. Also, I am concerned that the clinic does not accept VA benefits since I am a veteran. My understanding initially was the total procedure was around $10,000 but my current out-of-pocket is now $7000. I have petitioned Medicare to examine the cost. Also, I am concerned that I have paid out-of-pocket prior to Medicare coverage. At any rate, I think it's time for me to move on.
