Having had both eyes operated on for cataracts by Dr. Tham, there's no one else I would more highly recommend. She was exceptional in her analysis of my eyes, was a straight shooter when it came to her recommendations, and really seemed to take a sincere interest personally in making sure the outcome was up to my expectations. And she was very careful to mitigate my expectations with an open and honest opinion of the potential outcome prior to doing the surgeries. I had been to two ophthalmologists prior. I did not get a confidence level from them that I got from Dr. Tham. 6 stars if I could!

For many years, Dr. Vivien Tham and the entire team at Pacific Vision Institute has been my (& my family) eye doctor. She provides the highest level of care and Ophthalmology services that you can get on Oahu! Pacific Vision Institute is technologically advanced as compared to others and they provide the most advanced eye examination devices and machines which help with monitoring my early stage glaucoma that she diagnosed. You'll be attended to by incredible office staff are kind and treat you like family! Dr. Tham is a highly regarded physician and utilizes her strengths to support Hawaii's local community. Dr. Tham is the most genuinely caring, kind and compassionate Doctor ever!!! I am so grateful to be her patient!

Once again, my visit with Dr Tham was conducted in a professional and courteous manner. Her staff welcomed me to the office and ensured that my COVID status was checked, and initial eye checks were done in an efficient manner. There was a small wait time after them while I waited for Dr Tham, but it was not excessive and acceptable. Dr Tham reviewed my current conditions with me, examined my eyes and we discussed my ongoing treatment plan. I value Dr Tham as a physician and continue to receive excellent care from her. I have been seeing her for almost a year, and have seen a lot of improvement while under her care.

I've been a patient for Dr. Vivien Tham for over 7 years and by far she is the best, caring, and very friendly Eye Doctor to date. Every visit she checks my eyes to make sure nothing unusual happens, gives me options, and is very informative and detailed on how to take care of my eyes. Her patient waiting room is clean and comfortable, her equipment is the latest modern technology, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming, especially Jackie, Angel, and Cora. I'm very lucky to have Dr. Vivien Tham as an eye doctor.

I was referred to Dr. Vivien Tham by another Ophthalmologist because of a bad inflammation of my left eye. Dr. Tham was very professional, personable & very knowledgeable. I underwent eye tests, blood tests, an allergy test, and a chest xray so that doctor could determine my diagnosis & what kind of medications was right for me. I am so grateful to have her as my eye specialist because she's so patient with me when I have questions. I also had a vision test done to get my prescription for new glasses. Lastly, she has a friendly & very helpful staff who treats you like family. I highly recommend Dr. Tham because she's "one in a million", I'd say. My eyes feel great & appear more clear...Mahalo Dr. Tham!

My experience with Dr. Tham started with a referral from an optometrist. I was told that I had cataracts and needed to have surgery to remove them and correct my eyesight. New lens for my eyes were required to correct my vision. My visit to Dr. Tham's office was very welcoming. The staff very nice and helpful. Meeting Dr. Tham was a great experience. She was very professional and nice explaining in terms that I could understand what was happening to my eyes and what was needed to correct them. The place of surgery was clean with helpful people. Dr.Tham explained what was happening at each stage of the surgery. When I fully recovered I could not believe how great my eyesight was. I saw things that I could not see before and realized what I had missed out on. Thanks to Dr. Tham I can still see great after 5 years both near and far. Upon my first visit and scare that brought me to see Dr. Tham. The staff was very warmly, Dr. Tham was more than the same. She was always honest and gave knowledge to what my warranted visit was. I didn't understand, but she explained, every visit. As time past, and me doing exactly what she suggested. I'm now on less medication, and I appreciate her and her team for making EVERY visit welcoming and helpful with any questions I needed answered. It was a wonderful experience. My vision is now 20/20. Colors are vivid and brightness has greatly improved. Driving at night is no longer a problem as I can see signs from a distance. My golf game has also improved because I can now stay focused on the ball while hitting, and tracking the ball in flight is a pleasure again. In fact, I'm now the ball spotter for my group. The cataract surgery was a quick procedure all done with the accuracy of a laser. There was no pain, and recovery is less than a week. For me, I was able to see clearly with 20/20 vision about 3 days after the surgery. My experience with Pacific Vision Institute was absolutely wonderful. Dr Vivien Tham will explain the entire procedure to you from beginning to recovery.
