I've been visiting this office for close to two years and I never had a bad experience until today and will not be returning. Last week. the office reinserted a popped out left eyeglass lens, but since then I have had incredibly painful eye strain and my vision on the left side is very blurry and strained. Likely the lens just needed al small adjustment, but the office technician was very dismissive to not see if the lens placement needed adjustment but rudely to say that its "a me problem" and scoff at me. I will not be coming back to this office again just on this incredibly poor experience and lack of care.

Lifelong glasses wearer and the search for reliable consistent shop is never ending, until I tried Shades of California. The service, selection and pricing has always been on par with what I was needing and afford. Ten years ago I was more on a budget but the owner and staff have always made sure I got the best frames/lenses that was covered under insurance or that I could afford for when I didn't. As the years have passed I have updated my style and appreciation for quality frames and they still delivery. You can't go wrong with working with them, and it really is worth the time to check them out. For parking, at the post office and walk over.

Just had eye surgery... My distance is just fine. I'm a artist and I work outside. So I wanted tinted reading glasses. I asked the 2 nurses twice will these be tinted, I need them to see to paint outside. Twice I asked and was assured that they would be tinted Called the next day, come get your glasses, I thought to my self that's allful qick. Came in to pick up glasses, completely wrong. They made me glasses for distance instead of reading glasses, and no tent at all. Yes I was mad, especially after asking twice for tent, I was willing to pay out of pocket for tent. They were going to fix them but because I was mad at their incompetence they told me they wouldn't do it to go somewhere else. What a group of people. Both the father and daughter. I still can't believe it! Save your self the trouble of going here and what ever you do don't be mad when it's messed up! Same on you ! People should take the time to wright honest reviews like this one. I should of known better than getting glasses on the 4th. Street mall. I've since got my hmsa bill.... Please notice the charges.... I wanted reading glasses, and they gave me distance glasses.... Notice they tried to charge me for bifocals! I just had eye surgery! I got new lenses, so all I needed was reading glasses.! They tried to over charge my insurance company! Proof they are thieves, scamming my insurance company. If you deal with these people.... Check your bills. I'm turning them into the better business bureau, Monday. Shame on you!

I have been going to Dr. Cho for several years and she has been the best optometrist I have had. The staff is very friendly and there is a wide selection of glasses to choose from after your appointment.

Another visit to Shades of California! I keep returning here because Dr Jessica Cho is an expert in eye care, their prices are very reasonable, every employee is more than competent and plain old nice! I love this place and highly recommend them. I've been coming here for years and it's still the same crew. Their selection of frames is endless and I can spend hours here unable to make up my mind. If you want a pair in every color, they got it, if you want fancy or sport frames they got it. Oakley, Maui Jim's, contacts. They can do pretty much anything you come up with. Their prices. I am always shocked at how reasonable my total is. And you can put a half deposit then pay the balance at pick up. Parking is tough unless you work downtown, DO NOT PARK IN THAT BUILDING-they have insane rates and it takes 1/2 an hour to just spiral up and down that garage. I park at KUKUI AND WALK DOWN FORT STREET MALL. UPDATE: I moved to another island but couldn't find anyone else to take care of my vision needs so I booked a flight and hotel to get a new pair of glasses. Drs Cho and Endo are first class and whenever I think there's no way they can outdo their excellent service from last year then go and surprise the heck out of me. I didn't have an appointment and walk-ins are welcome. After selecting my frames, I asked Dr Endo if he could mail it to me. He said if you come back in 2 hours, I'll have them ready for you. Who does that? He probably worked right through without lunch and when I arrived, sure enough, as promised, he had them all ready to go! Thank you for all you do.

Simply the best ophthalmology shop in all the Hawaiian Islands. I got the best prescription eyeglasses there. They gave me a huge discount on the frames and lenses. When I got my glasses 3 days later, I was super-happy because the lenses they crafted, and the frames they suggested, made me see so clearly, and made me look so very attractive.

The service is friendly and they will help you with your eye needs. It is expensive, their quality of glass are unique and beautiful. Mahalo for serving me.They helped repaired my prescription eye glass when it needed some light fixing. Mahalo and God bless!
