Large selection of frames. Staff is friendly and helpful. Really happy with my glasses, but I did have one structural problem with the frame. Happily, the store went beyond the call to make things right. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience at this eye doctor's office, and a big part of that was thanks to Saul. He was seriously awesome--super friendly, patient, and really knew his stuff. Saul took the time to walk me through all my options, answered every question I had, and made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. I never felt rushed or pressured, which I really appreciated. The rest of the staff was welcoming, the office was clean and modern, and everything ran smoothly. If you go here, definitely ask for Saul!

Had a really great experience here with Dr. Velick! I had been overdue for an eye exam and prescription adjustment for a while, and I was getting constant headaches and having to take my glasses off for breaks. She took the time for a thorough eye exam, double and triple checking that the adjustments she made to the prescription eased my eye strain. Turns out my last eye place overcorrected my vision significantly, so the headaches make sense! Saul was also super helpful with the process of picking out new glasses, navigating my insurance and payment options, and he even helped adjust my current frames so they'd sit better on my face without sliding in the meantime. Will definitely be returning when it's time for another exam and purchase!

I had such a nice experience at myeyedr today. I came in and everyone was very polite to me and helped me in such a kind way. They told me they did not take my insurance anymore and was very polite with telling me so. I'm sad my insurance isn't accepted there anymore because I had such a good experience today. Highly recommend

I arrived early for my appointment and another doctor attended to me. I thought that was kind and an evidence of the teamwork. My doctor was nice and friendly. I felt at ease as he patiently explained things to me. The lady who took the payment was also friendly and courteous. It was overall an excellent experience for me.

This place is clean and has a lot of frame options. Viera is a great resource, helpful and so kind.

Update (May 1, 2024): After seeing my original review Larry called and asked me to return to the store to correct his mistakes. When I got there Larry offered me a sincere apology and gave me a refund of $400. In addition he fixed my wife's glasses for free and told me that if I came back he would offer both my wife and I a 50% discount on our next purchases. I should also add that my issues were with the pricing of the glasses and the glasses themselves are great. I am going to change my rating from one star to three. I will give them a second chance next year. Original post: Buyer beware: MyEyeDr on Central street in Evanston is a heavy-handed sales hustle. Let's start with the (ahem) inaccurate things I was told by Larry, the man who sold me the glasses: Larry told me I would get a 20% discount on my glasses. Nope. I got $35 off instead of the $170 I was expecting. Never mind that my insurance that I had already paid for should have included a 20% discount. How did I ever agree to that? That was the second inaccuracy. Larry told me he couldn't show me the invoice for the glasses until after I had paid. So I was caught off guard. Third inaccuracy. Larry said the "Plan" that I paid $29 for was an anti-scratch coating. It isn't. It is an option to buy a second pair of glasses at 50% off if your first pair is lost or damaged. But wait, there is more! Larry's price for the Armani glasses I bought was $850. Care to guess Armani's own price for the exact same glasses? $715. There were other excessively high charges. Anti-reflective coating was a good one. My insurance plan allows $95 for it. Larry's charge - $180. Warby Parker's charge - $0. Yep - $0. It is included in the price of their lenses at Warby Parker. The cost for the progressive lenses themselves was $469. That was $60 over my insurance allowance and $74 more than Warby Parker charges. There was no discussion about an option for less expensive readers or bifocals. There was also a $44 charge for "Photos". Of what I have no idea, it was simply on the bill. The final bit of sales hustle came when I asked for a copy of my prescription. The pupil distance numbers were missing. Those numbers are necessary to actually order a new pair of glasses.There was nowhere on the prescription itself for them to be entered. I had to ask Larry for them. He angrily hand wrote them on my prescription. What do all of those small charges add up to over and above a fair retail price? $363. Buyer beware. I won't be back.

Been a long customer. steadily going downhill. Last time new glasses had to go back three times. They've canceled my annual exam now twice due to staffing issues over a two month period. Messed up scheduling repeatedly and management seems to be upside down. Not reliable
