I was scheduled for an appointment to finally get my wrist surgery done. I'm a diabetic and I understand A1C, but I had them before. RodenHouse won't do anything unless you got A1C lower than 8. Some people can't do that and it's apart of life. But when we are hurting so much cuz of an injury from sports and work. Make an exception so they can get better. When I was younger, my A1C wasn't under control and was way higher! And yet both of my surgeries went very well and I'm doing perfectly fine! There's no excuses for not helping patients. If you want a doctor who's gonna help you and your A1C isn't super well. Doctor RodenHouse is not the answer and won't make any exceptions.
Go to Doctor Deluga, he understands the importance of this and I know that he'll do it for those who can't get A1C down.
The podiatrist are wonderful. Dr Ansari has taken very good care of my husband.
What a joke. Went here for cough and cold. Waited to see dr , waited for xray, waited for results and to see dr again. Plenty of staff they just more interested in socializing than pt care. Asked same question by 3 people and they needed it for various departments. Don't they use a charting system? When you are sick and don't feel good the last thing u want to do is be stuck in a room waiting for over 3 hours for some meds. Do yourself a favor and go to the emergancy room or iu.
In the last four years, I have had four procedures at the Surgery Center. Great care by Surgery Center & Othopedic Clinic staff and primary care physician.
Why a three star rating? A series of less than acceptable experience at Unity's Pain Care Center.
Here's the details:
Dr. Bigler? Great to work with. Staff? Another story altogether.
Have found it difficult dealing with staff. Have stood at the counter to check in for 5+ minutes and not even acknowledged. Have had several times when staff committed to call to schedule or confirm an appointment, but didn't.
Most recently, I had an appointment scheduled more than three months Iin advance. Received a call from staff the day before, telling me that my appointment would need to be canceled because they had not yet gotten pre-approval for the procedure. When I asked why I was being notified the day before and they wouldn't provide me with a alternative appointment, I was told that it was because I had only scheduled the appointment the day prior - when in fact the office had called to change my appointment due Dr. Bigler having surgery at the same time. Call it negligence, ignorance, or "gas lighting"; i dont need any of the three. The staff dropped the ball, then canceled and refused to acknowledge their mistake. Staff refused to commit to rescheduling or to give me a timeframe for approval.
As someone with severe pain, the procedure has been the one thing that works. Now, I'm forced either wait until they get pre-approval or find another doctor. I have done everything recommended by Dr. Bigler and been able to avoid psychotropic medications.
I need a care provider on which I can rely. Dr. Bigler has been great. Staff and experiences such as this are not acceptable. This "mistake" - at the end of the calendar year - could cost our family several thousand dollars (due to resetting of our insurance out of pocket maximum on January 1).
I am very disappointed. While waiting to see if anyone calls back, I will begin the process of finding another provider.
As far as the surgeon we worked with, he was wonderful. However, beware that Unity's entire billing department is horrible. They won't combine bills between the offices and each office or department that you work with wants a minimum due. When talking to the billing department about a payment plan, they don't work with you easily and just want their money. We paid over $2k to the surgery department up front for an emergency surgery. When the post operation bills started rolling in, I called to set up a payment plan. All the bills we received have the same account number on them. The billing department did not explain that even though the account number is the same, we have to make separate payments per office. They only set us up with a payment plan for one bill but not the other, making it past due. Then a few months later we get a letter saying that we have not made payments and are going to collection. We have been paying Unity each month according to our payment plan, but according to them it doesn't count because it is a different office. What a sham to have Unity as a name of a company when your billing department is not even united. Because of the emergency surgery, we also have bills with the emergency room and a few other companies. Every other company I have worked with is helping me the best they can, knowing in an emergency lots of bills come in, but when I called Unity to follow up, the billing lady just kept asking how much am I going to pay and she wouldn't work with me to adjust the payment plan until I totally broke down on her. Honestly, I feel sorry for all the great doctors at Unity because I will never work with them again because of their billing department. UNITY AS A COMPANY ONLY CARES ABOUT THE MONEY, NOT THE PEOPLE!
After I found out my doctor's suggestion I have surgery to keep from possible permanent paralysis I took two months going through my insurance provider directory found this doctor here in Lafayette then my rheumatologist spoke with this office and faxed my information over. This office then called me and schedule an appointment confirming the information they were given from my doctor .After an hour drive that causes pain and 45 minutes filling out paperwork I was then informed they had to cancel my appointment because they were under the impression somebody told them that I had a different Insurance and this neck injuries was a work-related problem. Next I'll probably get a bill in the mail for a canceled appointment not 24 to 48 hours in advance. Quality Care in its finest now another hour drive back to my town in the amount of pain tingling and unfortunately numbness down the left side of my body that I did not have to endure by making this drive do we turn to weigh when your office has misleading or worse in correct information through medical provider directory booklets. All the way around didn't even see a doctor and have had the worst experience I've had from a doctor's office in far too long.
While everyone who did my colonoscopy was wonderful once Unity got paid by my insurance I have yet to hear anything about my colonoscopy results and it's been about two months. Plus, while the medical staff at the doctor's office I use are great the business staff and receptionist are very uncaring and don't give a flying toot about your concerns. To them your a dollar source only and otherwise an inconvenience and a nuisance. I have been dissed three times now and I let the other two slide. Not this time. So three strikes and your out. I will be using my wife's medical facility and practitioner in Camden now. They are on top of things and have caring customer service agents. Not bean counters. I called their number and got a recording not a person. So that proves they don't give a hoot about people.
Likes people to suffer ain't that great Don't want to check for infections they want to do anything up proper to book anyone feels like I'm right please get a hold of me and we'll stand to make it right is together we are stronger to end suffering
