The doctor here has always been very good or so it seemed and that's the only reason I stayed as long as I did. Unfortunately, the staff and office management have been consistently disorganized for years, to the point that it became a running joke among patients. It's only funny until you actually need competent care.
Beyond the exam itself, there seems to be little to no oversight when it comes to prescriptions, contacts, or lenses. For 5-6 years, neither my daughter nor I could see properly with the glasses we received. I repeatedly raised concerns and was made to feel like I was imagining the problem. I typically purchase higher-end frames, and even after insurance my cost is usually minimal--but the price is irrelevant when the lenses are incorrect and ineffective every single time.
At my most recent visit, I chose a basic frame and was charged $130 upfront (normally only a deposit is required). Once again, the glasses didn't fit properly and my vision was still off. At that point, I stopped trying to correct the issue because it was a waste of time.
The final straw came months later when I noticed an unexpected charge of nearly $100 on my debit card. My appointment had been in January and was paid for in full at the time--on my spouse's card. Without contacting me, the office used my debit card (which I hadn't used there in over two years) and charged it for my spouse's exam. There was no call, no email, no authorization--nothing.
When I questioned the charge, I was told it was for my spouse. After disputing it, I received a hostile voicemail from the office manager demanding a return call. Upon further review, it appeared the exam had never been submitted to insurance, and this charge felt like an attempt to correct their own billing error without patient consent.
This crossed a serious line. Using a stored payment method without permission is unacceptable and unprofessional. If you value accurate prescriptions, competent staff, and ethical billing practices, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.
After reading others reviews this seems more like standard practice vs incompetence. Maybe these issues need to be formally addressed w State Medical Board / Consumer Protection Office.
Bought glasses here year and a half ago. Lenses went bad one of the very expensive coatings turned yellow and had hundreds of little cracks. Took them in they told me
They were out of warranty and they could order new lenses. They never inspected my glasses, which tells me they use very inferior coatings. READ THE REVIEW S
The doctors are wonderful, but the front desk is really lacking! As a person that worked in a surgeon's office for years, the front office staff is the face of a business. This staff doesn't have a friendly or helpful demeanor. I stopped going to this office because of their rudeness as did other patients I've know
I just had to call about a record,
and once more I was met with an unprofessional staff member. I'd rather go to an office where all the employees appreciate, not only their patients, but their job.
It's all sunshine and roses until they don't get your prescription right. Listen to those reviews because it's true they never take responsibility for their mistakes and bully you out of their practice while taking your money for unusable glasses. Dr. Woods even changed my prescription from her original so if I had used it elsewhere I would again have a problem. Beware and go elsewhere.
Last January I had a eye exam as well as ordering 2 pairs of glasses. When I receive my glasses I could not read with them. When I told the lady waiting on me , she said "well you told us how to make them " . So feeling like maybe it's my fault I took the glasses home only to return because I couldn't see out of them. So another appointment was made and the doctor adjusted my reading prescription. I picked up my glasses around the end of February. About 4 to 6 weeks later I had to return because my glasses were completely loose and sliding off my face. After repeated returned trips , adjustments , the nose peice fell off then one of the arms fell off followed by the lens coming loose causing them to rub wearing the coating off the glasses on top. I returned to be told " These are just out of warranty ". I left the glasses for repair again because they were loose and falling apart .I got my glasses back, wore them for a little over a month when they completely fell apart again when I was driving home from work. I returned leaving the glasses again because they could not be worn and asked to speak to a manager. The manager called me the next day and after telling her about my repeated repairs . I've been back 5 times in the last year only to have the repairs not fix the problems with these glasses. I was told "sorry they are a year and a half old" they are not. Apparently the warranty started the day they were paid for not received . ( my spare pair took over a month to be made) . It's not like I just took them in and complained after a year. I've had multiple issues and repairs over the year . These glasses must not be designed properly or whatever. I've been wearing glasses for over 60 years and I have never had a pair of glasses fall apart every 2 months. The manager offered to send my glasses back in the mail and take me off of their list of clients . That's how this company chooses to handle their customers when problems occur. I paid over $1200. For glasses that need to be replaced after only having them 15 months. This company does care about their customers or reputation.
In response to owner:
I want to make clear I did not at any point ask your manager for a replacement or anything free. I expressed my concerns that these glasses fall apart every 2 months and have done so ever since I've had them and now" they are out of warranty. " I asked one of your associates when I was in for the third repair " Do you keep track of all the times I've had to come back to get these fixed?" and she said no . So you don't have any idea if these repairs are within the normal scope of as you say " normal adjustments ". Some companies will take situation like mine and try to keep a client. For example: " I'm really sorry for all the trouble you're having. I see you are due for your next exam. Let's get you checked out and maybe we can find you a better fitting pair of glasses for you. I am a retired business owner. Maybe a small discount on the next pair ? " Then it's up to me to except or not . What I was told was " I can send you your glasses back in the mail and I'll take you off our client list. That's why I said you don't care about your clients. Hopefully I receive my glasses soon because the nose piece fell off the identical spares you made .

Went in today because i was seeing a shadowy spot in my left eye. Everyone was great, they referred me to a specialist after doing tests and checking everything they could. Definitely felt better after my visit about the situation.
Spacious waiting area, friendly staff members and a wide selection of frames to choose from. Always a pleasure to visit this establishment for thr maintenance of my vision.
After reading some of the negative reviews the only thing that I can say is, You get what you you pay for. If you choose to go to a chain eyeglass store then that's what you're going to get. Just like Burger King, you asked for it, you got it. The difference is that these professional women are educated and trained in their fields and earning a living for their expertise. You have a choice to purchase the most expensive frames, just to say you did, or a lower priced pair. I've done both. One pair was from France and had to go through customs therefore I had to wait longer than normal. That was MY CHOICE. It's also my choice to get tinted and transitional or not. You pay for what YOU want. No one is twisting your arm. The owner is wonderful and the staff is extremely professional.
Thank you to all of you girls, I'll see you tomorrow when I pick up my new glasses.
