Clarkson Eyecare

Clarkson is the most organized, professional, friendly, and thorough eye care facility I've ever been to! Every staff member and practitioner I've seen has been incredibly helpful and polite - dare I say fun? :) I especially appreciate the assistance I receive when ordering contacts and qualifying for rebates. 10/10 would recommend to all!

I have enjoyed the doctors at Clarkson, but a recent experience has made it so I am leaving Clarkson after years of loyalty. On 9/8/25 I phoned to the office to order contacts, which were handled and ordered. I received the receipt via email and it did not reflect any insurance proceeds. I sent an email back same day to the front office coordinator inquiring about insurance proceeds and received no response. I then proceeded to go into the office later that month and was told that I should've told them to use insurance so it was my fault and there wasn't anything they could do and I should contact my insurance or use my benefits for glasses. In December, I went to the office to look at glasses and they looked up my insurance and all they could see was that my insurance proceeds were already used, but couldn't tell me why or for what. I checked with my insurance and they paid out on the contact lens claim in September already, unknown to me that insurance was even applied/submitted. I then called corporate billing on 12/23 and they said I was owed a refund, which they submitted, and that the local office would call to facilitate the refund in the next two weeks. On 12/29, I called the local office as I hadn't heard anything and they knew nothing, but I did learn that they submitted the insurance claim and heard nothing from corporate in September. I called corporate billing AGAIN and they stated that the refund wasn't put through but couldn't elaborate and that they would do so. It is now 1/13 and I've heard nothing about my refund. I have been owed since September and Clarkson has not been able to remedy it, despite being given MY insurance proceeds. I'm tired of calling repeatedly and never given a confirmation or clear path to refund. The local office might be fine, but the fact that you have to deal with call centers and corporate billing makes it impossible to navigate.

I was very impresses with Clarkson Eyecare. The staff was extremely helpful, polite and knowledgeable. I was there to be evalulated for a special contact lense. Unfortunately they determined my insurance would not vover it. I highly recommend them for glasses.

Being a longtime client of Clarkson Eye Care in Ann Arbor, I continue to receive the cutting edge and wonderful care I have come to expect. The entire staff, from beginning to end, is caring, efficient, patient, and on top of their game.

I've seen Dr. Aroob Saleem for the past few years for my annual eye exam. She is kind and efficient, and so are all of the staff that work with her. I have gotten my frames + lenses, contacts, and appointments managed in a timely manner. They have a decent selection of frames, but could do with some more interesting styles in my opinion.

Illegal operation. They will not release my prescription. Two different locations won't order me contacts and telling me to call the other branch. Done. Filing a report, no one willing to do their job. Just order my contacts. Wow. Laziness. Wasted over a hour of my life playing phone tag with two locations. No one has an idea how to do their job. Absolutely terrible location and terrible company.

I went here a few weeks ago for an eye exam, and it was probably one of the most informative exams I had. The opticians were very nice, and they helped me pick out glasses that I'm now in love with! Thank you!

I waited over 30 minutes and the person who came in after me for an appointment after mine was sent in to see the same doctor first. They acknowledged the mixup but that's about it. Their medical records systems also seem to be glitchy in addition to the administrative systems being glitchy (the records system froze while the doctor was putting in information about the eye exam). The doctor and the staff were courteous but this practice seems to have some serious logistical problems to iron out.
