Takahashi Eye Care/Ann Arbor Vision Care

I love Dr. Takahashi but she is now semi retired and Dr. Johnson has taken over the practice. My 18 year old son came in for an exam and was honest about how he often sleeps in his contact lenses, this frustrated Dr. Johnson and he then threatened to take away my sons contact prescription instead of listening and finding a better solution for his stage of life, college freshman in a dorm room with a shared bathroom. After a very tense appointment, Dr. Johnson finally agreed, reluctantly, to allow my son to have daily use contacts, which my son loves and is no longer sleeping in, but the threatening, intense meeting with Dr. Johnson left a horrible impression. After nearly 10 years with this practice my family won't be back, and if you have teenagers or are a young adult, I would not recommend they go to Ann Arbor Vision care. You will not be met with a calm, understanding provider, just one who hears the wrong words and then uses his power to take away contacts or in his words "medical devices".

Dr. Johnson is the most caring and professional provider I've ever met. I normally don't write a review but wanted to acknowledge his service. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr Takahashi provides a thorough and comprehensive eye exam, she has state of the art equipment that helps her look deep into the structure of your eyes to see anything that's going on and diagnose disease. I was so impressed by her knowledge and the time she takes to explain everything so you understand. Dr Takahaski and all of her staff are focused on the patient and together they provide a great experience. They are professional and kind and helpful. I felt totally safe while in the office. They follow safe protocols to keep everyone safe and the office is clean and spotless! I won't go anywhere else for my eye care from now on. I was totally impressed.

Dr. Takahashi is GREAT - I've been seeing her for 20+ years and always feel that my eyes, which are both stressed/overused (yup, computer work) and *complicated*, are in excellent hands. She also has a lovely manner with patients - very warm and friendly - so it's fun spending time with her. I also really like her staff, who have been with her for years, and that always speaks well for a boss. They work well with our insurance and are very "user friendly." Dr. Takahashi also sees my husband and, now, our younger daughter - we all love her. I highly recommend this practice! (Easy parking and access, too.)

Dr. Takahashi has been such a pleasure to work with for many years. She genuinely cares about her patients. She makes you feel like you're the only patient on her schedule every visit. The office is always clean and sanitized, support staff are kind and considerate to individual needs.

Amazing service and quality care. Dr. Takahashi went above and beyond in caring for my son. She was kind, patient, and thorough in getting him a fitting prescription. She took extra time with him and never made me feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing her. Her expertise and knowledge are fully apparent.

I started going to Takahashi several years ago when I moved to Ann Arbor. I chose them in spite of the fact that they're not in network for my insurance. It's well worth it to get the top notch care I get. The doctors really understand my eye history and how it affects my vision. They explain everything they do and their findings in a way that makes me feel included in the process. They have a good selection of frames for glasses and I can actually find ones that look good and fit my face (which is not easy for me). Best of all... when I leave there with glasses and contacts, the prescription is always spot on. I recently moved out of the area and went for my annual exam to another provider near my new home. The prescription was wrong, and they kept trying to upsell me on vitamins and additional exams I didn't need. It was overall an awful experience. This year, I decided to suck up the hour drive to Takahashi so I could feel confident about the care and be sure that I would be able to see! As long as I'm able to get there by car, I'll always go to Takahashi.

Dr. Takahashi and the entire staff are very professional, friendly, and helpful. Dr. Takahashi has taken care of my eyes, and those of my entire family, for years. I completely trust her to care for us, and know that she takes the time to really know her patients, and care about them. I would highly recommend her and her staff to anyone.
