I had a wonderful experience at Helms Family Optical. The entire team was amazing, knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. From the moment I walked in, the level of service and connection was superb. They made me feel so comfortable that it almost felt like I had known them forever, like visiting family. Dr. Helms is truly wonderful. She is warm and kind and immediately puts you at ease. She takes the time to clearly explain everything, which made the whole exam feel relaxed and informative. Shameka was incredibly helpful with scheduling my appointment and assisting with some insurance questions I had. She made the process smooth and stress free. Gina helped me pick out my frames and I cannot say enough about how helpful she was. Buying glasses can be tough, but she was both knowledgeable and honest. She guided me toward frames that truly fit well and explained why certain styles would not work for my face or prescription. That kind of honesty and expertise made a huge difference and will help me avoid the issues I have had with my current glasses. Overall, the care, expertise, and genuine kindness of everyone at Helms Family Optical made this such a great experience. I highly recommend them.

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful! I am new to navigating medical insurance and they were very patient with my questions. Logistics were smooth and the ladies were all very polite. Dr. Helms is very personable and showed great care in giving a quality, thorough exam. She communicated the details and significance of each step, and I felt very informed throughout the whole test. A very pleasant experience at this practice!

My daughter decided she wanted to try contacts for the first time. Everyone here was amazing to work with. One of the lady's even spent one on one time with her to teach her the proper way to install her contacts! Highly recommend this place!

My wife had an excellent experience with Helms Optical 1 year ago. So, I thought I would switch from my current provider to Helms. This is my first visit to Dr Helms. The office staff (Gina) checked with my insurance company before my appointment and told me what my out of pocket cost would be for the eye examination before I had the eye exam. My eye exam with Dr Helms was very thorough. She was not rushed and did an excellent job explaining everything to me. Before I left my first visit, Gina estimated the cost of my new lenses and frames based on the type of frames I selected and the amount my insurance would pay. I returned the next day & selected my new frames. Cost was similar to the estimate. No surprises, just excellent service from start to finish. Every time I get a message that I am due for an eye exam, I am actually eager to schedule. I am not a person who goes to any dr regularly, just when I'm in pain or worried. However at Helms Optical, I actually look forward to my appointments. It's fast, we laugh. I am not judged and Dr. Helms gives me as much nerdy science as I need to be comfortable with my situation. Even my questions about her equipment or how the field has evolved, she always takes time to make me understand so I feel comfortable. The staff is equally helpful. They give honest feedback on my frame choice, make recommendations and again, answer all my questions. I feel like a customer, not a patient. Thank you Helms Optical for helping me take better care of at least one key aspect of my health.
