This is an extraordinary optical company on the Westside of Grand Rapids. Professional, organized, and welcoming. You can see the difference instantly. Using handheld iPads to review and/or update medical history (a process that is inherently tedious) the staff seemed to be in a constant state of making our visit useful, informative even pleasant. First of all, the facility is spotless, organized and cheerful. But once the actual examination began, having Dr. Bowen flipping through lenses and diagnostics while explaining in great detail (i asked. I am one of those) the science behind the tests and providing the history behind the science was so interesting (again, me inquiring. Not everyone wants to know) as well as practical advice I can employ to IMPROVE my vision. Yes! IMPROVE. Apparently there are actions I can take throughout the day to strengthen my vision and rest/recoup tired eyes. Outside the exam room, they are ready to snazz you up with new fashion eyewear. Patient, solicitous and friendly people. The owner (I'm sorry, i don't recall her name, only "EliaKim" on the invoice) will take the time to help you through the entire process. So here's my advice: you CAN go to a big box store and get the corporate version of this....but if you do go the MEGAMART to care for your eyes, instead of experiencing Westside Optical, you ought to have your eyes examined.

Great optometrist! My prescription was off by a bit after my first visit here, and they were very quick to reschedule me to tweak the prescription and fix it. Super happy with my experience here, I'll be back in 24 months when this prescription expires.

The doctor was so kind and professional! My old prescription was so strong it gave me headaches. He corrected it and helped me find the perfect frames! Highly recommend!
