Wow Vision Therapy - Grand Rapids

Fantastic experience from the office staff, doctors and therapists. Lexi and Darby were my daughter's therapists. They were amazing! My daughter looked forward to therapy every week. Her vision problems were corrected and headaches have disappeared. I highly recommend Wow Vision Therapy!

My world was turned upside down one year ago when I suffered a cardiac arrest which resulted in an anoxic brain injury. While in rehabilitation, both my occupational and speech therapists noticed issues involving the tracking of my eyes. I was referred to the WOW Vision office in Grand Rapids for an evaluation. The very thorough evaluation set me on course to a wonderful journey to visual health under the excellent time spent with Julie. The sessions and care were a delightful and successful piece of my recovery. I would gladly refer anyone to the care of Dr. Parz and her team.

We had a fantastic experience all the way through - from our initial consultation to the graduation with our therapist Julie and Dr Alyssa. My daughter was honestly sad to be done! And the proof is in her reading progress - would highly recommend to anyone!

WOW Vision helped identify a vision diagnosis that had gone unnoticed for most of my life. After a sudden onset of double vision, they guided me through the evaluation, explained path forward clearly, and provided therapy that truly worked. I was off work for three months, unsure if I would ever regain enough stable vision to return -- but thanks to their care, I did. I'm incredibly grateful for their expertise and the improvement in my vision.

My five stars for Wow Vision Therapy go entirely to the people who work there. Their kindness, customer service, and welcoming presence stood out at every appointment and even during simple rescheduling calls. Our daughter worked with Julie, who was always energetic, attentive, and wonderfully patient with our outspoken and sometimes anxious child. The front desk team was equally warm and upbeat and it always felt like a great environment. The only part we didn't love was the payment process. After they determined how many sessions our daughter would need, we were asked to make an immediate decision to pay in full for a 10% discount. It felt rushed and left us little time to consider our options. To complicate things, our insurance initially stated they would cover part of the cost, then later denied any coverage, which wasn't Wow Vision Therapy's fault, but added to the stress. I'm not sure if this type of quick turnaround is standard practice, but it was uncomfortable. That said, the staff and doctors were absolutely wonderful, and we're grateful for the excellent care our daughter received.

Our journey to finding Wow Vision Therapy started after we were told my daughter had 50/20 vision when previously she had 20/50 by another eye doctor just the year before. Since it didn't make sense we got a third opinion. Luckily the third eye doctor we saw sent us to vision therapy with a referral to Wow Vision Therapy rather than trying to prescribing her glasses that would not help. The vision issues (convergence insufficiency and issues with her focusing system) were causing daily headaches and a lack of confidence in reading and math as she was getting blurry vision and double vision as well. After my daughter's third session at Wow her headaches were GONE and did not come back. When we were nearing the last third of her sessions (she had 30 altogether) she was pointing things out on the way home like hey do you see that over there?! I didn't even know that was there as I couldn't see it before it was too blurry before. Wow has been a godsend for her eye health and her self confidence. The office was super easy to work with, they have flexible scheduling if you need to move an appointment but also have the same appointment slot(s) available each week for consistency too, which is huge for me being a full time working Mom. If you're thinking of trying vision therapy and choose Wow for your therapy office you will not regret it. Your kiddo is paired up with a therapist and they really care that your kiddo does well. You'll see so many smiles as they begin and exit their session because the therapists that work there really care about what they do and their patients. Our last session was a few weeks ago and my daughter still talks about Lexi and how she misses working with her.

My daughter was excited and willing to go therapy which i didn't expect from her after school. She felt much more confident with school activities, tracking material and driving after completing her sessions. I appreciated all kindness and compassion her therapists and doctor showed her. I wish we would have found this sooner.
