My husband is the patient of another eye specialist. I called the doctor on call line and Dr. Schaefer was filling in that night. She had us meet her in her office one hour later where she removed a small piece of rust from his eye. She was amazing and informative.

I can't speak more highly of the care and treatment I received from Dr Schaefer. She explained everything prior to my surgery and what was to be expected post surgery. . She has a great bedside manner. However, I have to say that the call center needs to improve. I had a really hard time getting in touch with somebody about re-scheduling an appointment for follow up with Dr Schaefer. The wait time, on hold, lasted forever. And when I asked her surgery scheduler to call me back I never heard back from her. I was going to use Ross eye for my regular eye doctor. Now, I will revert back to my previous eye doctor for regular examinations.

This office seems to be excessively dysfunctional and blames a "new phone system" on their inability to take care of the needs of their patients or communicate them to the provider. From the lack of communication to no communication to the unpleasant front desk staff is concerning. Waiting 3 weeks for an appointment when you have an aggressively progressing rare cancer, no follow up when told there would be, multiple phone calls made in panic trying to get some insight as to what is happening, is unacceptable. These are real people looking to you for help. Help in a moment when life is falling apart and their world is crumbling. Effective communication and follow up speaks volumes; something you have fallen short on. May I suggest your staff take some classes on customer service and how to effectively communicate. You could benefit from taking a moment and asking yourself how this would feel on the opposite end. What if this was one of your family members. You have lost your credibility at this point to manage the care and needs of your patients.

I see Doctor Schafer at Ross eye Institute she is very nice Listening to everything I told her and she knows everything she is talking about and she is very helpful and a like her as my Doctor

Dr Schaefer is wonderful! Extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. Her staff is as well. Im so happy I found her!
