I had a great experience with Dr. Parikh at Midwest Retina! I was a little worried about wait times based on other reviews, but I only waited about 20 minutes before being seen. Since I needed my eyes dilated, the total visit time of about an hour and 20 minutes was completely expected and reasonable.
Dr. Parikh was very kind and took the time to answer all of my questions. I would definitely recommend him!
Excellent doctors!! Many of the reviews complain about the wait but they do take in emergency cases as well as regular appointments so unfortunately sometimes you have to wait. I am basing my review on the most important thing and that is the care I have received every time I have had to go in which in excellent. I have seen Parikh and Patel who have both been caring, professional and incredibly detailed w/ their expertise.
I gave 2 stars because the staff is very courteous. My appointment was at 130 pm, I finally saw the doctor at 3 pm and was done by 3:03 pm. He dictates his notes to a scribe during those 3 minutes. So I am perplexed how one runs 1.5 hour behind when you spend less than 5 min per patient and you don't even have to document? The previous time I was there for two hours , so if you're coming to this office plan wisely, bring a picnic basket cause it takes a while at this office.
I don't care about the wait times. The staff is generally nice but honestly I care don't particularly care about that either. What I care about is that Dr Patel literally saved the vision in my right eye. I had suffered an injury to my eye a week earlier, and the ER doctor and my opthalmologist both had seen it and said it was just an abrasion. It started getting worse and Dr Patel saw it and immediately identified that it was a retinal detachment. He said it was an emergency and changed his schedule around to perform the surgery less than 24 hours later (this was over Thanksgiving week, mind you). My vision in that eye was virtually completely gone by the time he performed the surgery. All I can say is had I not come here I almost certainly would have wound up blind in my right eye. If my wait is long sometimes I could not care less. I would only ever come to this clinic. That's my suggestion.
Sure the waits are long but maybe it's because there are a LOT of people with major issues and only a handful of facilities and surgeons that can fix your problem. I had something rare and unique and I'm glad they were able to help.
If you want to complain about waits and the medical industrial complex vote better. Make medical school more affordable and available to the masses is the only way to solve one of the many healthcare issues with have in America.
Couldn't be happier receptionist were so nice and friendly Cheryl examined my eye very though what a sweetheart. Dr lisa was great and her assistant. Every one so professional and friendly.keep up the good work.
Dr. ___ failed me in many ways. From my very first appointment with him, I was in remission and wanting to establish care with an opthamologist in Ohio (Early 2023), to my recent visits since I had a Uveitis flareup, he has failed me.
When I first established care with Dr. ____ , I was in remission and had no active inflammation, and I felt as if he did not believe I had Uveitis. He googled my old Opthamologist, told me I'm fine, and after a few follow-up appointments of being told I'm fine (verbatim) I stopped seeing him until I had a flareup in June 2025.
I had an emergency visit with Dr. Buzzacco (way better bedside manner and explanation, at the practice in Dublin) to confirm it was a flareup, and put on a pred taper to hit the nail on it's head. Only a week later, when I got to visit Dr. ____, he told me I was fine and didn't see any inflammation in my eyes.
He ended up sending me to another location to get pictures of the backs of my eyes to confirm all of the inflammation that was hiding, and gave me two steroid shots to help the initial inflammation, with some daily meds he chose.
Every appointment since then I go through the process of bloodwork, waiting HOURS in his office, spending MAX 5 minutes with Dr. ____, and being told 'You'll be fine, Monica. See you in 4-6 weeks.'
What for? What about my bloodwork? What about my inflammed tattoo I reached out about? Why am I on immunosuppressant medication while I go into preschools and senior living facilities for work? I got actively disregarded in the portal to talk to Dr. ____ and disregarded in his office too. There was absolutely no concern for me in his care.
Finally in Dec 2025 I decided to get a second opinion, and without asking, all of those above concerns of mine were mentioned and tackled in my first appointment. I could ask questions and ask about all of the big medical terms i've heard over the years.
TLDR: Dr. ______ is good for an initial bandaid by getting steroid shots, but if you want to find out your root cause of the disease you have, seek help elsewhere. Dr. ______ shares no concern and the most common phrase out of his mouth is 'you'll be fine.'
Edited to omit his name, but you can find this review on his main Dr. review page.

Like others have posted. They don't care about your time. You likely don't have many options with insurance coverage and they know that. Might be worth seeing what's in coverage in a different city, you still might be there and back faster than the timeliness of this place. To make matters worse, when I raised my concerns to the employees, they told me it's always like this and I signed a paper acknowledging the wait time. They know it's like this and instead of addressing the issue, they make you sign that they have an issue. I asked why it's like this and they said "the dilation takes awhile to kick in". This was mere seconds away from acknowledging the first appointment of the day has no wait. I didn't know dilation was faster if you were the first appointment. We also waited 45 minutes after our appointment time to even be seen. Clearly dilation isn't the root cause. So not only do they prioritize profits over respect for their customers, they lie to your face about their over-scheduling. 2.5 hours for the whole ordeal but "you signed a paper it would be between 2 and 3 hours". Profits over people. Angry people pay the same as happy people I suppose. One of the main doctors is a part owner. Say no more.
