America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

So I normally don't write reviews, but since I have nothing else to do and my wife and I have been sitting here all afternoon, I figured I'd share our experience. Let me preface by saying that I don't blame the workers of this place, but rather the bad management (and still don't know who that is btw or if they're even here, aware, or care). But our pre-scheduled appointment was supposed to be an hour and a half ago and because we came a little early as America's best themselves recommended ironically, we'll be closing in on about 2 hours soon (after our scheduled appointment in case I didn't make that clear). You know it's bad when even I felt bad for the receptionist when I was talking to her and she told me they were short staffed by almost half the amount of workers I saw in the building. She seemed pretty depressed herself. They got my wife in for the pre-test (the first half of the exam) but then said they couldn't give us a time (even an estimate) for when she could actually be seen. They basically said we would either have to just wait all afternoon and see, or reschedule but then we would have to do the pre-test all over again. So they kind of hooked us because we'd already been here waiting so long at that point and didn't want to come back. The worst part about this for me personally, is I purchased the three year Eye care membership plan for my wife from America's best thinking it was a really good deal, but guess now I know that price isn't all that matters (although I guess we can just count the money as a loss and go somewhere else which is most likely). Also, the other ironic thing (considering the lack of staff here being a big factor) is that my wife just entered the second exam office finally where she has to sit and wait for another 20mins or so because she's not even meeting with any of the staff here but rather someone remotely who I guess needs even more time to connect. The woman in front of us though who exited the office my wife just went into exclaimed she was gonna have to reschedule even after the 2nd exam though so I don't even know what to expect anymore when she finally comes out. Anyways, if you made it this far, hope someone reads this today and decides not to come in or at least reschedule. And really do hope that this place can come under better management because putting my frustration besides it's just sad for even the workers. And I apologize to any other customers like my wife and I who chose to come in today

I took my son in here today and it was his first time there. Everyone was so kind! Very helpful and the eye dr was amazing! I absolutely recommend coming here for your eye care! Also, my son's favorite glasses were on clearance so that made his dayy!!

Awesome staff!!! Worked hard to get me the most "bang for my buck" for my budget. I got a great deal on great glasses. Sheila, Tina, Kimberly are all amazing. Check this place out for all your vision needs before going anywhere else. Yu won't be disappointed.

took my daughter here awhile back to get glasses using an out of office prescription. at her last eye doctor visit, not affiliated with this company, they informed me her vision is getting worse and worse and finally when when we looked at lens on her glasses they discovered that americas best put in the wrong lens and that they were causing her vision to get worse. if you do decide to use this facility please be careful, this could have really affected my child.

I was very disappointed by my visit today. A customer was prominently wearing ICE-branded gear, which created an atmosphere that felt intimidating and unsafe. I believe a business should be a welcoming space for everyone in the community, and seeing this go unaddressed made me feel incredibly anxious and unwelcome. I won't be returning until there's a clearer commitment to a safe, inclusive environment.

They only do virtual visits- how in the world the eye doctor can actually perform their job is beyond me but whatever. I ended up leaving bc I needed paperwork filled out and "they couldn't sign anything virtually" we live in a digital world, don't give me that crap. I called corporate and couldn't get an answer as to WHY they couldn't fill out the paperwork (it was for PennDot btw). They said I would get a call back and of course I never did. The virtual doctor was something I was willing to TRY but I wasn't wasting my insurance coverage on a worthless visit where I'd have to go to an ACTUAL doctor so they could fill out my paperwork. For me, I feel like I should have been made aware of the transition to a virtual doctor since it's been within the year the change has been made. I took off work for this crap.

Julie made purchasing new glasses a quick and easy experience. She helped me find a frame that would both fit thick lenses ,and looked right on me. She also found the best price possible comparing my insurance to a discount. Extremely satisfied!

Promotional opportunity got my reaction. Made appointment. Once in office for my appointment for cheap buy one get one 1/2 off, It didn't turn out that way! Bill came to $600!! The assistant kept reducing price 3 times! Then offered $474. as lowest price! I left. Went back to get 1 pair for $200. So much for a deal for 2 pairs!!
