Very disappointed and won't be returning.
We tried to give America's Best multiple chances, but both experiences were extremely frustrating. In September, we brought our daughter for her first contact lens appointment. We confirmed the appointment the day before, but when we arrived, we were told they didn't have anyone available to help her learn how to put in contacts--so we were sent away.
Despite that, we decided to try again and scheduled two appointments for my husband and me over a month in advance. We showed up early, checked in, and still waited over an hour past our appointment time. We were finally told it would likely be another 30 minutes to an hour before we were seen due to computer issues. She even said the person that needed to help her left for lunch. We ended up leaving without ever seeing the doctor.
Sadly, they are clearly short-staffed and very unorganized. As we were leaving, two other customers were also complaining about receiving incorrect prescriptions. Unfortunately, we won't be going back.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Mrs. Patsy and Mrs. Rebecca for their outstanding customer service. They made our visit effortless and welcoming from start to finish. Their professionalism and kindness truly stood out, and we can confidently recommend them to anyone--rest assured, you'll be well taken care of in their hands.
Do not go to this America's Best go to Stanton or anywhere else... I went for reading glasses but received a prescription to replace my contacts for driving. I did not go for a prescription to replace my contacts and was told they don't write prescriptions for reading glasses I'm like what is this nonsense. My appointment was booked in regards to reading glasses. They refused to correct my prescription I took my money what a scam. While I was there I witnessed multiple complaints from customers being brushed aside with no regard. I already tried reaching out to your corporate email with zero response.
Waited for an hour & a half and had at least an hour to go. Why let people make an appt? You expected me to wait ~3 hours to see an eye doctor? Then another hour to finish up. No notification up front, no call to say they're understaffed. No ask if I can come in later. I've never used this company before & I never will.
My appointment was for 1:00 on January 6th. 2026. At 1:45 still had not seen the doctor for eye exam. There were still 3 people ahead of me so I would have had to wait for another 45 minutes to an hour. My time is just as valuable as theirs, I should be able to charge them for my time as well. People, just remember it's your money paying their bills. Very upset and feel this is unacceptable.
The eye exam is cheap, but do not have them make lenses for an existing pair of frames. I have been waiting 3 full weeks with no contact of any kind from them. I have called 3 times, been told "they are being processed", then "they are being shipped today", and a week later "we broke your Rayban frames and are looking for a replacement". I cant imagine going back.
EDIT: I contacted the main office via email and they went above and beyond to make it right. While the local store failed to communicate, the main office was quick, and prompt, they get the 5 stars. Suffice to say I will certainly go back.
Two starts only because of how friendly everyone was the first time I went in. I picked up my glasses the other day and I told the woman I couldn't see out of them. She said I'd have to let my eyes adjust and I'd be fine. I've worn glasses for thirteen years. I know how the adjustment period is and I know that I can still see out of glasses while I'm adjusting. I was going cross eyes trying to see through the glasses. I took them back in and they were supposed to do another exam to make sure the prescription was right. The girl who told me I just needed to get used to them told me I didn't need another exam and to pick out new frames because the frames I chose couldn't be used with my prescription. A previous optometrist told me to go for rectangle and square glasses which is what I've worn for 13 years. She tells me I need the bigger wire glasses because no other glasses will work.
I went in to Walmart eye center after I left and I didn't have to say anything for the woman to look at me and tell me my glasses weren't right at all.


New update. Went all the way to Colorado to prove my point. That it can be done but dr here didn't/ refused to do it. Corporate feels okay that I had to go thru 3 states, spend more money and time just to get my glasses. Refused to hold Corpus Christi office dr accountable for the headache/ problems she created for me.
I understand why people rather go to Mexico or Canada to get medical attention/ services. This dr here cares more about being stubborn, pig headed, and not willing to do the right thing. My prescription has not change and Colorado did the right thing.
Update to my review. I did call corporate. After everything said and done. They can not change it and she (the dr) doesn't want to change it. But America's Best will still make my glasses with a prescription from any other dr. Also refunded the charges for the appointment. They did try but only the dr can do that.
My vision would change every 2 years growing up, until I did some research on how to stop it, or maybe reverse it. It's been 12 years with the same prescription. My left eye did change but by .25. After 12 years. My right eye did not change.
That it self should be enough to have the dr see my point of view and respect my wishes as I've shown that my eye exercises have helped.
Also, I have nothing wrong with my eyes as she confirmed. No cataracts, glaucoma, or whatever else could be there.
I even said, giving me a higher prescription, you are making my eyes lazy, too get lazier and it's not helping my progress.
The store itself was presentable. The ladies were professional and friendly.
Just the Dr. part, I felt she wasn't listening to anything I said or cared that giving me a higher prescription would hinder the progress I've accomplished. Unethical. It's like making me sick so I need medication for the rest of my life. So I keep needing them.
I'll continue to do my eye exercises and wear my glasses as needed. At least I'm not getting worst in my vision.
Don't waste your time. They don't listen. After explaining my request, and agreeing to it, at the last minute, dr did what she wanted and changed my prescription. I haven't had it changed in more than 12 years. I've been improving my vision with eye exercises. She said she understands and will leave it the way i have it. Then changed it and told me since it's finalized I won't be getting the same and she won't fix it back.
Waste of my time.
