Coastal Bend Eye Center

I am a 78-year-old female who has high praise for Dr. Dugan and his entire staff. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my multiple experiences at Coastal Bend Eye Center (900 Morgan Avenue in Corpus Christi, Texas). From the moment I walked into the clinic, I felt completely at ease and in the best hands possible. The staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly efficient, but what truly stood out was the care, professionalism, and expertise of Dr. Dugan. Not only is Dr Dugan highly knowledgeable, but he also has a rare gift for explaining complex medical information in a way that's easy to understand. I never felt rushed during my appointments, and every question I had was answered with patience and clarity. Whether it was a routine exam or a more specialized treatment, Dr. Dugan was thorough, compassionate, and truly invested in achieving the best outcome for me. I left each visit feeling confident, cared for, and well-informed. My visits have included eye exams, cataract surgery, and laser treatments. Highly recommended!

This place is purely focused on numbers. Saturday morning, appointment for 9:50am. Made the appointment over a month and a half ago. Place is packed, only two doctors present, minimal staff. Way overbooked, and waited over two hours to get seen. Doctor took three minutes on me, and then said I had to come back to get my contacts ordered? Still waiting here in lobby to check out. AVOID THIS PLACE.

This is for the Palmers office. I had my initial appointment without any issues, I got both glasses and contacts. However, I was charged $60 for my contact prescription but wasn't given it because they required a follow up fitting. I scheduled a 9:30 a.m. appointment (the first of the day), but after waiting an hour the doctor never showed up, so I left. I rescheduled for a week later, again early in the morning 9:45. and here I am still waiting almost an hour past my appointment time with no doctor in sight. Very unprofessional and extremely frustrating to deal with.

The reps that answer phone lines for appointments could use better phone etiquette. They are rude and unprofessional. If it was not for Dr. Dugan, I would gladly go elsewhere.

Dr.Harrison is worst!! had to get my eyes rechecked 3 times!!! dr smith at la palmera and his staff are amazing!! highly recommend him.

The care is awful. Dr Moore was my physician and when I called the reception desk hung up in my face. I'm a veteran and pray that not another veteran gets treated this way. The VA should cancel their contract.

I had a 2:15 appointment for a simple eye exam. Arrived 15 minutes early like they suggested. Didn't get out till after 4. Dr. Harrison not very personable.

My two daughters and I have been going to Coastal Bend Eye center for 3 years. I would take turns taking them to Beeville and the one in Corpus. I live all the way in Sandia, TX, which is over an hour away. The One in Beeville is always the best. I have never had issues at the Beeville location. I get emails, follow-up calls, they had me log into an account for my other daughter; however, this go around, I needed a Saturday. The only area that offers Saturday appointments is the one off of Morgan Ave. I have been to the one off of Morgan Ave before, and again, I've never had any issues in the 3 years I've chosen Coastal Bend Eye Center. Unfortunately, this time, it was a horrible experience. My exam for contacts and glasses was on 3/22/2025. Many back-and-forth calls later, as of yesterday, I finally received my contact prescription that had been fully paid for since 03/22/2025. As I viewed the prescription, it shows on the contacts exam date 7/10/2025, which is a complete lie, and the expiration date 3/22/2025. No apology, no explanation, just a here's your prescription with the exam date 7/22/2025 with an expiration of 3/22/25. I had called, checked my email, and I even logged into my daughter's account to make sure it wasn't updated on there and spam folders (to ensure I didn't miss anything). I had nothing. When I called yesterday, they were more concerned about who I spoke with last on the previous request on July 7/11/2025. Wanting dates and times didn't matter; all that mattered was that it wasn't done, and I had no prescription for my contacts. My prescription was never followed up. My insurance paid, and I paid cash for everything else. There is no reason or excuse for receiving my contact prescription on 7/28/2025 when my exam date was 3/22/2025.
