Honest Eyecare at Elyson

Ive always had positive experiences with eye clinics that share space at Target so I figured this would be a good place to get my contacts prescription renewed. Was I ever wrong. From the moment I scheduled my exam this place didn't give me the feeling they were very competent. I had to give them my personal info and insurance info 3 separate times before I even had the visit. Things got weird when they started requesting SSN info over poorly written texts so they could file the claim with insurance before I even got there. On the day of the exam I feel like they dropped the ball every step of the way. To start the receptionist needed to get all my info again just to tell me I wasn't able to use insurance(because I assumed they already filed the claim) then she told me I was unable to be seen for a contacts fitting. After asking for her to look further they just decided I could have my appointment for contacts. After that the office tech that ran a few tests seemed like she really didn't want to be there and I was lucky she deemed me worthy of her time. Then when I go in to see Dr Nguyen I didn't even get a basic introduction as a new patient. I could tell as when he did the exam he was hardly there mentally and at that point we were all just trying to get things over with. I'm not sure if things went downhill at this office over the last few months but this place absolutely doesn't deserve the positive reviews it has. I'm just waiting for the bills saying my insurance has rejected their claim because they filed it 3 times times. I hope this office can do better or at least just quit having weekend appointments if they can't handle it. I feel confident saying you would have a better patient care experience at a Texas prison eye exam than Honest Eyecare at Elyson.

Today is 2/27/26 my last day using Honest Eye @ Elyson walked in stood 15 seconds wasn't greeted at all by the customer service representative here .... then walks another customer of a different ethnicity gets a warm welcome how may I help you ?.. skipped me totally .... for a second I thought I was invincible... been going here for years want be back

Outrageous Negligence -- I'm Done With This Place I am beyond angry with the absolute circus that passes for "eye care" at this place. They didn't just make a mistake--they gave me the WRONG prescription entirely, as if mixing up patients' vision needs is something casual and acceptable. It's unbelievable. The moment my kids put the glasses on, they noticed something was off. Headaches, blurred vision, dizziness--you name it. And when I went back to get the issue fixed, they didn't take any responsibility. Not even a simple apology. Instead, they acted annoyed, dismissive, and completely uninterested in solving the problem they created. They ignored the situation, brushed off my concerns, and acted like I was being dramatic for expecting them to do their job correctly. The arrogance and carelessness are shocking. If you care at all about your eyesight, your family safety, or your sanity, do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. I will never trust them again, and I honestly don't know how they're still operating with this level of incompetence. "Honest" is there only in the name board.

THEY NEED A BIG SIGN SO YOU CAN KNOW WHERE YOUR GOING! I actually went inside of target and it's NOT inside of target it's on the outside building!!!! Omg!! Jazz was freaking awesome!!! Super happy I came in!! Great experience!! Thought I'd just use my insurance because it's paid so use it. Nice office building! I was late but they still moved pretty fast. So that was cool because I had just got off work. The office can get crowed because it's not very big, so my advice would be to come EARLY so you don't cross paths with many people. Dr Barin is the business!!!! I loved her personality!! Great experience!! If I could 10 star I would! Very professional!!!!!!!!!!

The care staff at Honest Eye Care at Elyson was awesome very excellent customer service,I felt right at home, the staff is very polite and helpful , I the survey had a 20 they deserve it including the Doctor that was assigned to me I forgot her name but she was very attentive and thorough with the exam and findings. I recommend anyone to Honest Eye Care the name speaks for itself. Thanks Honest Eye Care!,

I recently had a routine eye exam at this facility and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of care I received. The eye doctor was truly exceptional - he took his time with me and carefully explained each part of the examination process, making sure I understood what he was looking for and what my results meant. The whole experience felt personalized and attentive. I left feeling confident about my eye health and grateful to have found a practice that prioritizes thorough, compassionate care. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking for quality eye care with a personal touch.

There was a bit of a wait for 20 mins appointment thus I ended up being there for almost an hour from start to finish. That's the only reason for 4 stats. Otherwise good service.

I had a great experience on 10/1/25 when getting the initial exam and was told to make another exam if I was interested in contacts. So I returned for contacts on 10/2, and it was a complete 180. Different doctor and technician. It felt like an assembly line and did not bother to slow down and read why I was there or preform the additional exam. I ended up leaving as the fitting/training did nothing but cause pain and frustration. Strongly recommend going somewhere with space, care, and experience if you need anything besides a script factory.
