Standard Optical - Lehi Eye Doctor

I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses in June 2024. The lab was unable to complete this order because standard optical was transitioning labs. I was told August 2024 was the expected completion of my sunglasses. In August I called and was told a better expectation was in September 2024. In September I called and was told November. I have not received these sunglasses to this day (April 2025). Repeated calls to any of the offices result in busy, disconnected, or full mailboxes. I have called Sandy, Holladay, South Jordan and this Lehi branch where I went for my eye exam. My appointment included the eye exam, purchase of these sunglasses and replacement of lenses in a previously purchased pair of glasses (Standard Optical). I spent hundreds of dollars on this combined purchase. I have been a current customer and patient with Standard Optical since 2019, and previously was a patient from 2003 to 2016. This has left such a bad taste for me that I can't say the business' name aloud.

If I could give zero stars, I would! I have been a customer with them in the past and never once had a problem until now. I reordered contacts online. The charge was taken from my bank account. After not hearing where my contacts were, I decided to call the store. I was told that they don't have an option to order or re-order contacts online, even though their website clearly shows otherwise. The lady that I spoke with said you can only order contacts in store and that it's not available online. I told her that the charge was already taken out of my account and they have already received my money. She told me they had no record of my order or my prescription on file. They refused a refund. I now have to dispute the charges with my bank to get my money back. I will never be returning to them as a customer. Do not go here!!!

Paid over $500 for glasses that they said would take 8 to 10 weeks. They said it's backed up any where you go. Week 9 I call to find out it may take longer than that. Called Walmart optical and they said it can be done in a week. What is going on? This is ridiculous for a pair of glasses. I've started the refund process but I'm anticipating it will not go smoothly. But I'm hopeful. On the other hand, the staff was very pleasant and easy to work with.

terrible experience and will never get me money back it seems. i spent money from a flex$ for a years order of contacts to find out a few months later they're out of business. don't worry it was to late to dispute the 800$ charge with the flex company and i obviously can't get ahold of anyone from standard to get a refund. terrible service

I don't think the receptionists here have ever worked in any customer service role in their lives. Their lack of engagement and monotoned voices and mannerisms are incredible. Once, I had come in to pick up trial lenses, and the receptionist there was on her personal phone talking about work drama. I stood there for 10 MINUTES IN FRONT OF HER FACE, before she finally said "hey, I'll have to call you back. There's a customer waiting for me". Then just asked me, "what can I do for you?". NO APOLOGY WHATSOEVER. I placed an order of contacts with this facility in April and was told it could take 2 months for them to receive the order. It is now October and I can't get ahold of anyone up there because their voicemail says their location is closed. Amazing.

This store has been horrendous at handling our purchase of glasses for our daughter. One month after ordering we called them to check on the status only for them to tell us that the frames we selected were unavailable. From what they told us they knew this was the case but they never shared that with us. We then selected new frames and were given a timeline of 1 more month. It's now been another 6 weeks and we have no clear end in sight. Management tells us every day when we call in that they will call the lab and call us back the next day and every day they do not call back. Do not come here!! There are plenty of options and this location has been terrible. They have had our money for nearly 3 months and we have nothing to show for it while our daughter waits on glasses that she needs. To make matters worse this is not our first poor experience with this site, but shame on us for using them a second time. You can be guaranteed we will not be back again.

Lehi location. Never received ordered contacts. My daughter ordered glasses in 2023, they took over 3 MONTHS to come in. The company issues us a $100 credit for our experience, and was told they had an issue with a supplier so they got a new supplier. My daughter used that credit plus an additional $200+ to order contacts in December 2023. After calling repeatedly for weeks waiting for the contacts to come in we were told the same response "I'm sorry, they should arrive in 4-5 weeks". We finally had enough and asked for a refund April 2023. We were told they were sorry, the owner had passed away a year prior and the company was struggling to get its feet under them since. And, ironically enough, apparently they were having issues with their NEW supplier as well. Interestingly enough, other optical companies quoted me 3-10 DAYS to get in contacts. NOT 3-10 MONTHS. We will never go back.

This is a 5 star review because the staff and the doctor are very kind, and the experience in the office was wonderful. However, please don't order your contacts through the office. Go home, and order online. I ordered in June. I cancelled in August, and got an order from another company in a week. Today, the 26th of NOVEMBER I finally got my order. I don't think this is the fault of the local office - the staff were very apologetic, and gave me many free samples to help me through. (However, they ran out of my prescription, and couldn't help anymore) Then the cancellation didn't go through, which really messed with my finances that month. Again, the local office were wonderful - just don't order your contacts through them.
