WARNING: If this office does not list that they accept your PRIMARY insurance, you may be forced to pay the entire visit cost out of pocket, even if they do accept your secondary insurance. If you have dual coverage, confirm BEFORE your appointment that they accept your primary insurance. Secondary doesn't matter. I had an extremely frustrating experience here due to a confusing insurance policy that was completely avoidable. I have both primary and secondary health insurance. When I scheduled my appointment, I provided my secondary insurance because I saw on the website that this practice accepts it. Everything seemed fine when I arrived, and no one mentioned any issue or asked whether the insurance I provided was primary or secondary. It wasn't until after my appointment that they asked if the insurance I gave them was my primary insurance. I said no, but explained that they accept my secondary plan. At that point, they told me they could not bill my insurance because it was secondary and they do not accept my primary insurance. As a result, I had to pay the full bill upfront ($190) the same day. What makes this even more frustrating is that if I did not have my primary insurance (meaning my secondary plan would have been my primary), they would have accepted it. That makes no sense from a patient perspective, and it's not something most people would ever expect unless explicitly explained. This situation was EXTREMELY avoidable. This practice should ALWAYS confirm at the time of scheduling whether the insurance being provided is the patient's primary insurance if they have these confusing policies. Patients should not be expected to anticipate this policy if it is not clearly communicated. I strongly recommend anyone with dual insurance coverage confirm this in writing (not on the phone) before their visit to avoid surprise charges. UPDATE: The reply is incorrect. At scheduling, I provided only my secondary insurance because your website indicated it was accepted. I was not asked if it was primary or secondary nor was advised whether that mattered. I obviously would not have come in had I known I would be required to pay the full balance out of pocket. No one can afford that.

Dr. Tran was wonderful with my daughter as she learned how to put in and take out her new contact lenses. My daughter was really struggling at first, but Dr. Tran was incredibly kind, patient, and encouraging throughout the entire process. She took her time with her and never made her feel rushed or frustrated. Thanks to her support and guidance, my daughter finally figured it out and felt much more confident. We are so grateful for the care and patience she showed -- she was truly great!

I cannot recommend the doctors at Northern Virginia Ophthalmology Associates, P.C. (NOVA) highly enough. Their professionalism and genuine care for their patients are outstanding. Recently, my daughter developed an urgent eye infection. First, Dr. Patrick Kaszubski (Dr. K): When we called the after-hours line, Dr. Kaszubski was the doctor who responded. His suggestion was timely and thoughtful; he advised us to come into the office first thing the next morning to ensure there was no delay in her treatment. We were so lucky to have Dr. Justin Torosian as my daughter's doctor. Dr. Torosian then went above and beyond by arranging to see her in the office on a Saturday, a day the office is normally closed, for immediate care. His commitment continued with multiple follow-up visits to check on her recovery. The collaborative and responsive care from both Dr. K and Dr. Torosian made a stressful situation manageable. We were so grateful.

I've been to the Fairfax location twice and both times I had to wait 45-50 mins. to be seen by the Dr. And I was early to my appointments! It shouldn't have to take so long. Very frustrating. The tech also agreed that their scheduling is all screwed up and a lot of people complain...so fix the problem!

This office was recommended to me by my GP. It's located in a lovely building, and the office itself is very clean and furnishings are updated. There's a play area for children if you have little ones with you. The staff members were all friendly and courteous. The tech who did all of the measurements on my eyes made the experience very enjoyable. I did have to wait for the doctor, but I believe that was because my eyes were dilating. Dr. Oliver was professional and helpful, and the whole experience was very positive.

I was struggling with a constant headache for a week and a half. I went to my regular optometrist but she wouldn't preform my eye exam without having my eye sorted first so she recommended I see an ophthalmologist. After calling around to many different offices within my insurance network I kept running into the same problem. All of them were in specialized eye health and not general eye care so I couldn't get an appointment unless I had an eye disease. Long story short I Google this practice and they were able to get me an emergency eye appointment with Dr. Vu the same day. She is an optometrist with a very kind/excellent bedside manner. She was very informative and gentle when it came to the examination and explaining exactly what was wrong with my eye. She helped me calm my nerves and was very understanding and welcoming throughout my appointment. I'm honestly tempted to ditch my original optometrist that is five minutes away from me and go with this practice that is 30 minutes away because of her kindness.

$165.42 for eye exam? That's after insurance coverage. Do not come here if you are looking to just have vision check. Go see the doctor next to Costco. Without insurance he is still cheaper.

When you schedule an appointment, there's no guarantee you'll be seen by the doctor, so it's difficult to plan or rely on it. I had an appointment on Thursday, July 17 with Dr. Khan. An hour before my scheduled time, I was on my way and called the clinic to confirm the address. That's when I was informed that my appointment had been canceled because the doctor was sick. While I completely understand that doctors can fall ill, I was disappointed that I received no prior notice -- no phone call, no text, nothing to inform me of the cancellation. When I asked how I could reschedule, I was told I'd have to go to the end of the line, and the earliest availability for this doctor at this location is in October. My concern is that if appointments are already booked months in advance, there should be a system in place to accommodate patients when an unexpected change occurs -- especially one initiated by the clinic. What is your policy in such situations? If the doctor is unavailable, is the patient expected to simply wait several more months, without any priority or alternative options?
