Dr. Dave Barley is exceptional. I very much appreciated the care and time he took explaining so many things during my first visit here for an annul eye exam. Everything was super smooth and stress-free from booking an appointment online to checking in and being seen to walking out with an updated glasses prescription. Thank you so much, Dave and team! I'll see you again this coming year :)

This doctor is billing health insurance before billing vision insurance. Furthermore he is falsely fabricating "medical" concerns that simply don't exist and not informing patients of such until they get a big bill from him and their medical insurance company when the patient has vision insurance that would pay for the exam. BEWARE THIS IS ILLEGAL. I am reporting to the State of Virginia and patients must pay attention as they could be found culpable if not reported. Greed has overtaken this practice. When I asked that he call me and left messages with his staff to discuss, he has refused and not responded. Too bad.

What a great optometrist! He was super kind and sweet with my 6 year old and he explained everything so well. The staff is very friendly too.

Dr. Barley is the absolute best optometrist I've seen in over 20 years. My family and I have been seeing him for about 5 years and the service is exceptional. His staff is always polite, and he's a total gentleman. He's so patient when I ask him a thousand and two questions and thoroughly explains everything. He listens to my concerns and does all he can to support my concerns.

I've been a patient of Dr. Barley's I think since 2003 when he was a the Walmart Optical on Rochambeau. Always had decent care. In November, my glasses broke and were irreparable. I was seen as a walk-in, but he withheld my prescription until a contact lens follow up. I have tried for 10 days, calling multiple times a day to get that follow up, but I've yet to call and get a response. I went to the office today, the office plastered with "WALK INS WELCOME" and asked to schedule a follow up appointment so I can get my prescription. The receptionist, who both times I've encountered her, seemed like I'm was a burden even being there. Says no appointments for two months. And it's no wonder as they are literally only open 3 hours a day she tells me (9a-12p). I asked if I would have better luck just walking in and waiting and she tells me they won't be taking walk ins. So, now I'm at square one. Wasted time and money and these contacts are on their last legs and he withheld my prescription. Pretty rotten end to a 20 year plus relationship, but I'll never go back and make sure everyone I know won't either.

Dr. Barley is very polite and thorough! He really takes the appropriate time to examine your vision and explain everything that you need to know. I felt like he took his time to ensure that I understood my eyes and my vision needs, which is very nice in the healthcare field. My husband also used his services and he was also impressed with Dr. Barley. He is a cool guy that provides excellent care!

Dr. Barley is an absolutely wonderful optometrist. I've seen him for 2 years now and he's been wonderful each time. He's thorough, explains any questions in great detail, and takes his time to ensure you're comfortable throughout your visit. I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Barley and his staff are so friendly and efficient! As astigmatism becomes more of a problem for me, Dr. Barley helped me find a great contact lens that was actually comfortable (not all astigmatism contact lens are), cheaper than my current one and corrected the problem perfectly. Highly recommend!
