After several years of seeing Dr. Long and having a pleasant doctor/patient relationship, I was surprised to have her call me at home and say she is not willing to see me anymore because she is not able to make me happy and we have different perspectives. My last memory of her is when I waited in the ofice for her to appear. She put her head in the door, with the rest of her body in the hallway, and said I could loose my job over this. This all began with a typing error on my lens prescription which caused severe eye strain. When I questioned her medical opinion which was the eye strain was a coincidence, she ultimately called me at home and dismissed me as her patient. According to isight optometry "Wearing the wrong prescription for a prolonged period of time can cause eye strain, resulting in pain around and behind the eye." It is not a good sign when you can't question a medical opinion without being dismissed as a patient. When this happened I contacted the Riverside patient advocate. She ultimately discovered that it was a typing error. When I did a Medicare.gov complaint Dr. Long denied any wrong doing, rather said I had dry eyes. Not good when a doctor lies to Medicare and can not simply admit a mistake was made by staff. I recently went to a new eye doctor and received a very thorough examination as well as being shown concern for the vein concern. Lab tests were done to rule out a possible concern. There was no concern shown for this by Dr. Long. As time goes by the eye strain, bulging vein and pain have all gone away. Obviously the typing error on my prescription caused this. I recently learned I have a scar on my left eye. I would reasonably assume this was due to the error made on the original prescription and the resulting eye strain. I recently got a new prescription and lenses. I have learned that the revised prescription give to me by Dr. Long was not correct and the left lens prescription, even after they told me they had corrected what was still wrong. I can now see clearly out of both eyes.

Dr. Long has answered all of my questions with patience, kindness, and support. I feel so fortunate to have her extremely intelligent guidance as I deal with my optical "situation."

Nothing but great things to say about Dr. Long and her staff. Competent, professional, thorough and efficient. Highly recommend Dr. Long as an expert in eye care.
