When shopping for eyeglasses it's very easy to be seduced by the lovely displays at other stores and your eye doctor. I almost forgot that Wal-Mart has a vision center so I figured I would give them a shot. Am I glad I did! Not only did they take my insurance but they have a really wonderful selection of frames to choose from, and quite extensive too. More importantly, the customer service was spot on. Chad, a licensed optometrist, fitted me beautifully and gave me his honest opinion on my choice of frames. I had my lovely new Oscar de la Renta glasses in about a week! Couldn't believe how fast they came in. The price was right, they look great and I am seeing beautifully. Wal-Mart often takes a bad rap but they provide jobs and I received professional, courteous customer service. Well worth checking out!

Initially impressed with the selection, but when I touched the first set of frames an annoyed associate came over to tell me that every pair I touch (one, and liked them) has to be cleaned. The second pair I touched, rude Karen associate says, "Do you even have a prescription?" I do. On me in fact. In desperate need of glasses. But I'll be going somewhere associates don't suck.

Wonderful experience today! Chad and Katy are fantastic. We are on vacation and my husband's contact was lost, so I went to Walmart as soon as the vision center opened. They didn't have his rx but did have a sample pair that they were able to provide him (after viewing his rx from our eye doctor).
I expected to receive a lecture about remembering to bring glasses but they didn't! A situation that should have felt embarrassing to me wasn't and I truly appreciate that.
I highly recommend this walmart and vision center.
