The receptionist and the eye care lady where so kind, professional and helpful! I came back to get a pair of glasses from 3 years ago that have expired and broke with all the help they gave me I look forward to getting my favorite glasses back on this face! Thank you all so kindly.
I had an appointment and the staff was wonderful.. They did a great job of explaining everything, and then the actual appointment was wonderful, also and very thorough and helpful .. Feeling really good about my eye care.!
My initial appointment at Shoreline Eye Care went well, but the experience deteriorated quickly. I was told upfront that in order to receive a contact lens prescription, I would need to attend mandatory "contact lens classes"--which came at an extra cost. Only after paying for and attending the class was I informed I'd need to come in a third time to finalize the prescription.
While they did make this third visit a known requirement, the entire process feels excessive and unnecessarily costly, especially for someone like me who travels frequently. When I called from out of state to request my prescription, I was denied and told I'd still need to come back in person--despite already having paid for the class and completed the fitting.
This system feels like a way to manipulate the process and sidestep the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act, which protects a patient's right to their prescription without extra obligations. I've decided to take my business elsewhere, even though I could return to finish the process, because I no longer trust their approach. I would advise others to be cautious before committing here.
DR Tydor is an excellant optometrist since she took over from my original Dr at this location. She makes sure i am heard and tell me of any changes that seem off especially with my medical conditions. She tells me of anything that i view as a quality of life like digital photos so i dont have to have my eyes dilated. Her staff is great even with all the staff changes over the years. My whole family sees Dr Tydor and we really enjoy the location. We will continue to see her as long as she is in business for the excellant care
Top notch eye care in Shoreline. I received excellent and friendly communication from Heather. Alex was helpful, patient, and informative while fitting me for glasses. Dr. Goldberg has a great bedside manner and was very thorough in explaining details. I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic.
I received the best customer service/patient care at Shoreline Eyecare.
From scheduling my initial appointment, cancelling last minute and rescheduling (my bad), right through to my actual eye exam, everyone was incredibly knowledgeable and very nice.
Lindi especially took great care of me, explaining my prescription, lens options and even the different options that my insurance would cover.
I wish every healthcare appointment moving forward would meet these standards. This is the type of patient care that we all deserve.
Shoreline Eyecare has extraordinary service and I highly recommend them! Dr. Tydor is friendly and cool, zero trying to sell you stuff (I have been to other eyecare who does that a lot, and it is very annoying). Ally is pleasant and extremely helpful. She took the time to explain the details, super organized and go extra miles to help whatever I ask for. I am very impressed by her customer focus attitude!
My glasses were damaged and I needed a new prescription so I made an appointment with Shoreline Eyecare for February 1st '23. Ordered new glasses, I'm told 7-10 business days for arrival.
Google's character limit cannot handle the full saga of what happened next, so I will skip a lot of aggravating details about the months I spent half-blind because of Shoreline Eyecare. Over five months, these people made me three faulty pairs of glasses. We will start our narrative on month six with pair #4 of an eventual six pairs of glasses total.
In JUNE, for pair number four, I requested my original prescription. Unlike the last 3 pairs, these kind of worked. Except my eyes are getting tired REALLY fast. By the time I get off of work, I can barely read my own phone screen. I give it some time then I contact Shoreline. I sent in a contact form through the website, since I had a lot of details to explain and I was pretty angry, so I didn't want to be on a phone. That same day, I called and scheduled an exam with Greenwood Optical for the next week.
Two days pass, no answer from Shoreline. I call, leave a detailed message. Next day, no call. Two attempts over three business days.
Thursday that next week, on the third day that Shoreline Eyecare had still not contacted me, I saw Dr. Monterola and at Greenwood Optical she was able to reassure my concerns and immediately propose a new theory about why my glasses weren't working. I burst into tears in her examination room and she was very kind.
Friday, I called Shoreline Eyecare to get a copy of my prescription for Greenwood Optical to look over. Shoreline office person freely expressed she had a note to call me but didn't know what for. I had, in my voicemail and my email, expressed the fact that I really needed a call back and I was distressed.
After some discussion, Shoreline makes another lens order.
Office person neglects to reply to my email for several days and I suspect she's making me another faulty pair of glasses so I snap and order glasses from Warby Parker even though I do not have an extra $200 to burn.
I get my Warby Parker glasses and they work perfectly. At this point, now that I have spent money to have 2 other business do these peoples jobs for them, we have finally figured out the issue with the glasses, so Shoreline Eyecare orders pair number 6. September 1st, I pick up my final #6 pair of glasses from Shoreline Eyecare. 7 full months after my first appointment, during which I was frequently left half-blind, having to interact with these people multiple times a month, every month, for 7 months.
Mistakes happen and I don't usually get fussed about them, even mistakes that significantly impact my life in a negative way. What really got me is how little Shoreline Eyecare seemed to care about the invoncience, fear, and straight up disability I had to drag around for 7 months. Without understanding what the hell was going on, I was terrified that it was my own eyesight that was going bad, and Iost hours and hours and weeks worth of productive time because I couldn't see. I emphasized to Shoreline Eyecare multiple times that my orignal set of glasses weren't viable to wear, that I COULD NOT SEE TO DO MY WORK, and it did not seem to inspire even a little bit of urgency or extra care in them. I did not even get an apology.
I was stuck dealing with these people because of insurance, until I finally broke down and had to spend money I don't have just to see again.
I purposely haven't used the name of the office staff I worked with at Shoreline Eyecare because I don't really blame them. Where was their boss during this entire miserable ordeal? I did not have a single conversation with Dr. Tydor beyond my first appointment. Could I have been spared 7 months of this garbage if she had done her job and re-evalauted me? We'll never know.
Remember it's important to learn to adovcate for yourself with medical professionals. Even the best doctors have bad days or can miss details. And many doctors are not the best.
