Walmart Vision & Glasses

I'm speaking specifically to the Optician's office and NOT the retail side for glasses. DO NOT GO HERE. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE and go see Dr. Lee Moore in Charles Town if you can!!! I went to this Walmart optician and it was the worst exam/experience i've ever had - it was rushed (I'm talking MAYBE 20 mins in and out!!) but I was the only patient in there or waiting at that time, the Optician didn't seem interested in what I had to say, my concerns, the patterns of my eyes over the last 25 years I've been getting contacts/glasses (this was the first time I'd seen her so I was trying to give her some backstory). I felt so invalidated and unheard! She gave me a prescription that I eventually had to call back about as I was experiencing physical discomfort with the contacts and headaches which I presumed were linked to the script/contacts. She refused to re-evaluate me, edit the prescription or write one for the brand of contacts I prefer so I was left without a script, without contacts that were comfortable and preferable, and I ended up filing a "complaint" with my insurance company because the entire experience put such a horrible taste in my mouth. Not to mention, I'm pretty confident they overcharged me and I had to battle with my insurance for reimbursement. I paid $100 at the time of service but wasn't given an explanation or a receipt as to what the charges were for. Just felt very impersonal, rushed and inconsiderate of the patient. Just don't go here, seriously. I ended up booking a SECOND appt that I knew insurance wouldn't cover because I'd already been seen this year. At that point, I needed to be able to see and order more contacts so I was more than willing. Dr. Moore was AMAZING, he was patient, kind, answered all my questions and was thorough in his exam. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND JUST GO SEE DR. MOORE!

The lady that helped me with my glasses, Michelle, was the sweetest angel in the world and so helpful with getting my glasses ordered. She deserves a raise.

Response to the review above.. I went to the vision center just a day or two ago and they went above and beyond to find my insurance and What Benefits I have. They politely told me to call the number on the back of my card to find who my "third party" is. It was news to me that the insurance company won't talk to the staff there! They (the insurance company) would only talk to me, Which the staff told me about initially. The staff was unbelievably helpful. The doctor is so sweet and kind! Best exam I've had in awhile. The staff was excellent! Very professional! I will definitely return!

I recently purchased a pair of glasses at this vision center and was not happy with my experience there. I had to bring my glasses back three times to be fixed and when I asked to speak to a manager, she was extremely rude to me and was no help at all. At that point I asked for a refund and I was within their 60 day return policy and they refuse to do so. I will never go back there for another pair of glasses ever!

Went here last year for glasses for my daughter and contacts for myself. My daughter's glasses weren't fit correctly, leaving marks behind her ears. I ordered contacts through them for the same brand I've been using for years. I haven't been able to actually use the contacts because they've been the wrong prescription this whole time. I'm only complaining now because I'm at a different optometrist, and even they said my prescription from the old contacts is off.

This was for my first pair of glasses - My initial exam started ahead of schedule (almost immediately after arriving) and was very quick! Paperwork was minimal even though I had never been there before. Everyone is extremely professional, courteous, and above all, patient with my questions (especially about finances). The price is quite a bit lower than other local places and my glasses were ready within just 2 days! I usually avoid Walmart buy I highly recommend this vision center :)

I just had an eye exam with Dr. Nita Gala. She was very thorough and professional and very nice! The vision center staff was also exceptional in helping me learn to put in contacts and pick out the perfect glasses. Thank you!
